Woke up this morning to the serpentine belt squealing. It quieted down a bit when it warmed up, but it was still noticeable so now it's at the stealership. Overheard the techs talking about how the engine was "heavily modified"

Just think. If you wouldn't have modded your car, you wouldn't have to pay for this $20 belt yourself.

Yeah of course I'm sure they'll be spewing that bullshit when they call me tomorrow. "The heat from your headers caused the belt to fail therefore you owe us $30 for the belt and $500 in labor". I should get a printout of Magnuson-Moss ready.

I've got American Racing Headers and love them. You will see many others go with Kooks or Stainless Works. All good brands. You don't have to get cats with them if you don't want to. I got mine (w/cats) for 1200 because the vendor was running a christmas special one year otherwise they cost I think around 1600-1800. You can find cheaper headers though that are good quality.

I'm curious about the headers also, what do you all think about the Texas-Speed 2''. Is there enough difference to justify double the price of the other top shelf brands?

Those are great headers. I have the 1 7/8 and a buddy of mine has the 2". Not a single complaint here about fitments or quality.

TSP headers are what I always recommend for a budget header. 1 7/8 is the most popular size of all the headers. 2in is fine but fitment is tight and you could run into problems. Several have had problems with 2in where others haven't. It's a crap shoot. There have been a few fitment issues with 1 7/8 but not near as many as 2in. That's not TSP specific but all header brands. It's just the variances in the cars.

Anyone here have anything negative on Racestars? I may be buying some dark stars. Beefcake used to be on here but he's not. I had my buddy dig him up on the mustang forums and I called him...dude was awesome and helpful on the phone. Looks like a solid product too. Not weld good...but pretty much weld light.
