![]() I think these cars should all go on a diet, and have the engine take some steroids on top of that. That is basically what the Boss Mustang has done so now it's GM's turn to compete against that market segment. The GT500 for 2012 will get a boost in power just in time for the Z28's return since the Z28 is being tuned to beat the current 2011 GT500.. Fun times to be a muscle car fanatic We all should sit back and enjoy the show... No more stagnant 4.6 Liter 15 year old engine anymore.. Thanks to the Camaro's return, the quick release of the 5.0 erupted. I see the trend should continue and GM will try and one up Ford and vice versa. However in the weight dept., the Camaro has a long way to go so I don't expect much of a change until the 6th gen body comes out..

Yes Ford is watching what GM does with the Z/28. Expect the same year the Z/28 comes out Ford will up the power of the GT500 to around 605hp.

The 4.6 received a couple revisions from 96 to 2010. It got PI heads and cam from 99 to 04. It went to a 3V head in 2005. Then it got a cai from the bullit in 2010 (not really a motor change but i thought id throw it in) |

The Boss will actually weight more.
Not exactly sure about the Laguna Seca version though. Apparently their is still something not released about the Laguna Seca that is pretty big, from the rumors. But my guess on that would be that it will rev to 8200 rpms and not 7500 like the regular Boss. |

I am not exactly sure on what size tires/rims are coming on the Boss either. They could count for some weight increase. |

I do enjoy this site and hope you do too. The best car made for under 35k? The 2011 Mustang GT sure is. You don't have to comment on the blindspot issue anymore. You're blind to the issue itself and won't admit it's a problem. However the automotive press has spoken for you and have noted this design/engineering problem. A few new camaro owners have already jumped into a 11' Mustang GT with one of the main reasons being this. |
