Or me. I have a contract signed Friday but no car. I'm thinking that was a mistake. I should follow through on my threats to demand a refund.

I'm embarrassed now to tell people why I don't have the car I said I was going to get. GM is not a respected brand and now this basically let's everyone say I told you so. This is what I get for trying to buy my first American car.

That's why I said "for those who have paid" there is hope. You'll notice I didn't post saying "this helps everyone". This was a big discussion in another thread, was just trying to help.

i just called my dealer and they have no recall for the camaro other than a squeaky clutch pedal. I gave them the reference number and they still found nothing.

Apparently GM hasn't released anything official yet other than a stop sale.

The dealers do not have any details yet, the announcement was a "Heads Up" to make people aware of the issue and that they are working on the recall and you will be getting one in the future.

I'm thinking they might leave you with your old FOB, change out the ignition with a new key. You need to retain your old FOB in order to work the key slot in the backseat for the emergency trunk release.

Will we be forced to proceed with the recall, or can we keep it the way it is if we chose?

Nope, will not do this recall. Could understand why they doing it but I have no issue with my knee bumping into it and I like my key the way it is, retractable thank you very much.

o Maybe its just me, but when I entered my VIN on the warranty and recalls page on Chevrolet, I received a message saying my vehicle isn’t included in the active recalls. Has this recall gone into effect? I’ve had my Camaro since October of 2013.

When you enter any Chevy dealership you will wrestled to the ground, then put into a headlock w/noogies and GM is currently trying to decide if "water boarding" will be used or not. It's still sorta controversial at the moment. They WILL TAKE YOUR KEYS pull down your pants and Spank you before they send you on your way.

Sounds like Fun, sign me up!

I don't think they are in the system yet.

Just so you all know you aren't forced to take your car to the dealership to have a recall performed, unless you haven't bought the camaro yet.
