Maybe check out some Mustang forums. I am a member of MustangForums.com but don't post all that much there.

My buddy has the gt with the optional 3:55, and I can pull him 8 out of 10 times. Both manual trannies. Every time I find #'s on the gt, it is with the track pack with the 3:73's.
whats it matter? I work in a ford dealer and I drive a camaro instead of a "me too" car. Besides, they are close enough that mods and drivers make the race. I always tell the bosses son, take any gt off the lot and line up and you can move first!

I agree. This is what Dragoneye wanted in making this thread, for us Mustang owners to leave.. It is succeeding as this thread is now dead.

If I wanted a "what's it matter answer...I wouldn't have posted the question...but anyway. Just for me and my buddy to bust each others chops. Not that serious, but just in good fun

I don't plan on leaving, however everything being piled into one thread where nobody is going to go back and be able to read what anybody is talking about kills discussions to only those who were part of the original threads before they were moved. New users coming into this thread can't figure out what to post about other than the basic/generic anti Mustang/Camaro bashing or the like.. lol..

We've already had this discussion, and the admin closed it. So might as well just leave it alone. It's a dead end.

Again...according to my sources...Ford and the definition of curb weight...does not include optional equipment.

Curb weight includes all STANDARD equipment

The GT500 is 3820 with the standard system.

BTW...I thought they were 470-480 at the wheels. Not 500. Not on most dynos/days etc.

^ There's quite a few well documented 500whp 2010-2011's out there. I think enough to warrant the 500whp badge. 2011's are posting the highest so far due to the 10 additional HP, no power steering pump, reduced engine friction from PTWA process, new exhaust manifolds, increased exhaust diameter to 2.75", and a 40% larger more efficient heat exchanger all help the 2011 put down more whp over older models.

A lot of mis-information posted:

1. 2011 Mustang GT does not have a track pack option. There is a Brembo brake option that includes 19" wheels and summer tires.
2. Auto comes with a 3.15 and no option for a different gear ratio. Fastest/quickest stock time is from an auto.
3. Not aware of a specific test of rear gear comparisons. Stock 0-60 times range from 4.3-4.7.

BTW - when you speak "pull", from a stop or a roll?

I think you're being sarcastic, but it is either amazingly efficient, or the motors are underrated. 10% loss seems about what were seeing. The GT's at ~370 WHP and the 500's at ~495. About 10%.

No I wasn't.....it is amazing! It's pretty typical to see anywhere from 15 to 20 percent!
