Yep. I'm at 18, on pump gas - 93 Octane Tune.

I was just thinking that it just seems like a lot to get to that number; I see where you're coming from though. You hear DOHCs are so much more efficient than OHVs and it almost seemed counterintuitive that it requires that much boost, relative to LS9, but I see where you're coming from on the displacement. A half-liter doesn't seem like all that much, but that's all speculation regarding this...

Thanks for the input.

Add 5 psi to the ZL1 and see where you are!
Then it's not stock, sadly... Fair enough though What - about 20 horse' for every psi, or so, depending on IATs? That's part of the reason why I'm still not that worried about the power. I've always had a power goal in my mind anyways, and I still believe we'll see the chassis is going to be the definining difference between the cars and where I believe the extra mass of ZL1 will ultimately equalize the field, in most regard.

I seriously doubt this, as long as fuel and spark are kept under control. Piston squirters, and upgraded rods and pistons (though not forged) are better than non-FI'd 6.2s.

My point is that it appears the GT500's power increase is from a BIG increase from a power adder. Adding that type of power is a pulley change and a tune away for many FI engines.

Also anyone who really cares THAT much about power will not leave it stock.

I wish I could get my hands on a ZL1 6M and give it a go. I might get it into the 11's since I pulled this off with my bone stock (including paper air filter) 06 GTO 6M...

He's saying he did a 12.6 with a stock GTO and therefore assumes he could do an 11 with the ZL1 based on that performance. Seem reasonable.

ok what you are saying makes sense, but no i dont think he could. zl1 is a pig. i bet he could do the mile faster in the gto because it is lighter and smaller then the zl1 as well. If both had limiters removed
