just throwing in my 2 cents .. a lot of great ideas and i have read posts , can,t remember if anyone mentioned daytona...you have the 500, bike week, spring break..{ feb-march} i know that this is prob to far south for some, but thought i would mention as it is really geared for heavy racing and auto tourists ...weather is also great...you could actually drive on the beach. worlds longest camaro beach covoy.lol...

also , at first i believed that 1 fest was good , but as time went on i have come to realize that camaro owners are really getting on brd .. i believe that an east coast and west coast is the best idea..for instance , mentioned above that daytona idea, went to the turkey run in daytona had 4812 CARS registered, yes 4812 cars , i have no idea how many spectators or vendors ?, i believe that a east and west coast could easily do 1/4 of that @ each event and grow easily with a continuing # of camaros being sold and modded each and every day...what we need is someone to take charge of getting these gm dealers camaro5 info...my dealer never heard of camaro 5... nor has some camaro owners i have met . we need to inform more camaro public and that starts @ the dealer...this 3 day event staged over 2 locations would satisy vendors and camaro owners...each owner would be able to go to at least 1 event and possibly 2...vendors could possibly go to both , that means more sales for vendors[ more money } better deals for owners{ more supply more demand = lower costs}.....economy gets a boost as there is business @ 2 loctions ...you have 1 superbowl with 50,000 seats but 100000 people, is that better.NO,,. 2 superbowls on each coast with same game , but enough room for all comfortable, would that not be better..YES.we should know by now BIGGER is not better...hope i make sense to some..my 2 cents. i put a 3.6 kb sc on my ls3 and run stock internals with 12lbs of boost..... bigger not better.

+1 - or the last part of June.

Well We've narrowed it down to 3 possible locations....

We are still focusing on the western US but have a central location on the list of possibilities....

Please understand that we are still trying to determine the best place. for C5F II. Nothing is locked in yet but we should have a pretty good Idea in a few more weeks.

A couple things I can reveal. We are planning for a two day event for year two... Meet and greet on Thursday Night, Friday and Saturday at the track and Sunday wrap up...

Also we are looking at Late March through early May for possible dates.

Plus, things are more expensive with competition for venues.

And money talks.

Well the 3 logical locations would be Vegas (too expensive IMO), Firebird in Phoenix or Heartland in Kansas. March through May would be much better for the western tracks before the temps climb above 100; March or April being better. I've never been to Kansas so I don't know what their spring weather is like but I doubt Heartland would get as hot as Vegas or Firebird.

Firebird would pull in the west coast, southwest, midwest but you'd probably greatly reduce the number that could attend from Canada and just about everybody east of the Mississippi. You'd still get a huge turnout because there are a LOT of Camaro enthusiasts in the west.

Heartland would probably guarantee the best mix of all regions being able to attend including Canada and the home team from Chevy.

Firebird would be most likely a 1 day drive for most attending; Heartland would be a 1-2 day drive for most. So adding to the 4 days from Meet & Greet to Sunday Wrap-up, Firebird would require people take maybe an extra day for driving home but probably most would be able to drive there on Thursday, and be home by Sunday night which is not bad. Heartland is going to add a minimum of 2 days of solid driving and for those coming from the coasts it would add 4 days. But I think we'd have the greatest number of people and the greatest mix from everywhere.

The final thing to consider is the costs; facility costs as well as hotel rates for either Firebird or Heartland. Vegas is expensive; period.

I'm going to whichever location is chosen but it would be nice to be able to meet the east coasters which I know a lot more would be at Heartland than Firebird.

If it's west coast...I'm not going to put 4-k miles on my car driving somewhere out west on straight flat roads....I get enough of that at home.

Maybe we should get the 'southern chapter' to have another meet next spring...

you guys have fun out there in the good 'ol west! I'll be back when it comes around to the east coast again! I'm definitely up for a southern meet.

Thanks for the update. I'm just looking forward to finding out when and where and planning accordingly. You guys put a lot of time and effort into planning this event so whatever works for you all is my preference.

All I have to say is the Road goes both ways guys.... West coast complains when its on the East..... then East Coast complains when it is on the West.

Not everyone will be a happy, a happy medium is best one could shoot for but you're always bound to have someone upset because its "too far" for them to drive... then you try to please them and other complain "its too far"

I'll go where ever it is because I Trailer mine thus no miles put on it.
