Yep. It's pretty simple: if you believe the Camaro has hit a 12.58, then you have to believe the GT can at least hit a 12.4.

Ford does a much better job with the exhaust sound from the factory no doubt and I agree the Camaro sounds better with just a muffler delete however when you go past that, I prefer the GT.

The GT500 sounds better than both IMO.

SS = GT500 > GT, IMO.

well every hundred lbs they say is good for approximately a tenth of a second.
If the traction is there of course. What did it end up coming with 245's or 255's?
255's an option. I really need to check out the ford website.

Sounds like dirty, raised up truck with some crappy Flowmasters. Your buddy probably lost some low end torque too, depending on how much the exhaust was changed.

I raced a '11 5.0 the other night in my ls3 Vette

he pulled about 3 cars on me from a 30 roll to 120.........

he said it was bone stock except that it had a full tank of 87 octane and he had a couple bags of cement mix in the trunk, still had dealer tags on it................

I believe it a 12.3 is totally possible with a great hook and great conditions. On my last test and tune session there was a new 2011 with dealer plates on it with DR on stock 18" rims and Steeda CAI that's it, NO tune, No exhaust. On one of his last passes he ran his usual 12.2 but trapped only 96mph instead of his usual 116mph, so I think if he got a another pass it would of been in the 11's for sure. Granted its not stock but it was a hot and humid day in the valley and I could see a 100% stock GT with a lot of heat in the stock tires (big Burn out) on a prepped track later this fall on a cool night run 12.3

His best 60ft was 1.66 and I don't think the CAI helped it out that much given it wasn't tuned for it so is probably on par with NHRA Stockers drop in that he had on his 12.59

The ~300lb weight difference in favor of the GT and 14 horsepower advantage for the SS, equates nearly perfectly to a two tenth difference.

here is some news about the coyote limits:

i watched and talked to justin burchams team about his 2011GT procharged this weekend.


he is running a stock interior. plus SFI requirements. he is running 14.5 psi of boost on the STOCK ENGINE. they would not quote exact numbers, but its making over 700rwhp on the stock motor. 14.5 psi is enough to make 800hp at the crank.

he didnt get any good runs. he blew two rear ends, and a transmission.he ended up leaving the event. manual tranny cannot take the power. the autos can.

i watched totally stock interior untouched chasis cars running 11.8 this weekend at bowling green with headers, catted h-pipe mufflers, CAI, tuns,DR's.

and blown cars running 10.4 at 129mph with SFI requirements, stock interior, bolt ons, and tires. the car was a premium GT. so it weighed more than stock with the cage.

It's either you weren't trying at all or he had some NOS in there.
