As I said I am not a fan boy. I love all muscle cars (American Only). I have an SS but my first love was Mustangs. My dad has an 2009 GT and my bro has a blown 2008. I have owned several myself. I know what they are capable of. My point was, in stock form with equal drivers the C6 LS3 Corvette, M6, has the edge... also based on Internet reports/mags. This is mainly due to their lack of traction. If you knew me personally, you would know I am a big deffender of the GT500 at work to all the GM fan boys that don't understand that traction plays a huge part in drag racing. Both great cars, but my original point was the vette was lacking the driver mod.

props to Ford on there 5.0L as its Awsome technology and much needed after the long drive of the 4.6


however one thing we can all agree on in the past Ford has that distnctive firing order that gives its Mustangs a sound that we all know a Mustang by.

The Original 5.0 sounded like it and the same came from the 4.6


however this New 5.0L I dont care for the sound it doesnt sound like a Mustang from the past imo and everyone says it sounds like a older Mustang
No it doenst my grandfatheer has a 65 shelby and my uncle has a 69 mach1 and neither of those sound like the NEW Mustang.


I'm not saying the NEW stang isnt a good car as we are all seeing it is quick however im just stating the one thing the new stang imo is lacking besides a better looking appearance in the rear is THE SOUND ford normally masters with its cars.

I hear ya. I have owned my share of Dodge and GM products over the years as well. You are correct. Both are great cars.

I think you are on to something. I noticed it too. It is a distinctive sound all it's own and nothing like my old Ford 302's of the past. Another thing I notice is that the engine does not sound like it is revving that high. 6,800 sounds like 4,500 of the older 5.0 and 4.6 days. Very weird. Reminds me of the time Warren Johnson was running the 180* cranks in his Pro Stock cars back in the late 80's.

the trap speeds for an auto are much faster than even the most inflated incorrect numbers out there for the 5.0, the Vette shouldnt have any problem
