First of all congrats to Chevy for building this car. Secondly, the same thing they are saying about this car is the same thing is they said about the ZL1 and ZR1 prior to that. "You won't be able to find one," "every one of them will be spoken for,"... yet and still ZR1s and ZL1s could be found two to three per lot at a time with puppy dog headlights begging to be taken home. This Z28 as grand as it may be doesn't not have a magic wand to ward off many of the factors that prevent low volume/high priced cars from selling out every year. If you want one bad enough they will be there to be had.
75 grand doesn't just fall out the sky, or grow on trees. For all it's wonderous abilities, it's an impractical vehicle. It's still a tough sell sitting next to an already expensive and more practical ZL1 with all the creature comforts standard that give you at least a shot at selling the whole idea to your wife. Fabulous car, and I could possibly buy one. But I'd just buy a ZO6 first to add to the collection. If the Stingray is this fabulous at 455 hp, what would a ZO6 do to competition? I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking that. |

Can't we all just admit this is going to be a fun car for whoever has the cash to buy one. The mass of those complaining about it never planned to buy one anyway. Honestly, I (as a "Ford guy") even think this car is a great idea as it may lead to the reinitialization of the Cobra R program. I couldn't say that those who will purchase this car aren't crazy for doing so, but they're my kind of crazy, seeing as I'd still pay $50k for a '00 R.
Let's all hope to see these Z/28's in action, and maybe for some of us, let's enjoy the driver they provide.

FYI, regarding the Z06 I'm on board with Number 3 it's going upmarket. They're evan mentioning the word "Supercar". So figure six figures.

True enough. But I've never really owned a GM (save for my 1st car, an '84 olds Omega SX) car so I don't want to be a liar. Though I've always had a soft spot for the 4th gen WS.6's.

I agree. When you label it a supercar and drop 620+ hp into it, $100k+ should be expected. The thing I don't understand is what are they going to do with the huge price and power gap between a Z51 and the Z06? Seems like the hole the Z06 filled in the previous generation. Now it moves to ZR1 levels with a probable ZR1 moving even higher in the power and price range. Makes no sense to me at all. |

FYI, Fast and Loud, Counting Cars, Velocity TV, is not product development.
Even "How it's Made" and "Modern factories" do not even come close to showing the effort required. Me thinks we see an engine swap on TV and think that's all it takes. Very close to a product development 101. That is all.

harness or roll bars
Any info concerning harness bars or roll bar for new Z28. Those slotted seats are not much good without a bar and harnesses to secure your Hans device.

Seems like an incredibly capable engine from what I've read thus far, with torque being very close to LS7's. Thanks. |
