Ford does make a good 5.4L aluminum engine and now the new 5.0 but the 4.6L wasnt stout. Really want to go back on mustang forum see what new 5.0 is good for. Its built strong. Im guessing it can make over 600wHP easily on stock internals

From the factory the DOHC blown 4.6 that came in the 03/04 Cobra is stronger than the 5.4L that comes in the GT500.

It is the strongest mass produced pony car motor made so far.

Also did anyone watch Horsepower TV this past weekend.

They dynoed a crate 5.0 from Ford. Had the normal accessories, stock air intake, and ford racing longtube headers with cats. First dyno at stock rev limiter netted 460hp/411tq at crank mind you. Ford rep told them to up the rev limiter to 7300 rpm. This netted 468hp/413tq at crank.

must be noted that since this a crate motor it is not sure if the tune is the same as the production tune.

Oh yea forgot about that cobra engine. That was a badass engine. Didn't know strong then 5.4L s/c but it was strong. Knew people making about 600whp with it.03/04 cobra was a great car .

My GT has a pretty good photo finish to it.

I know a few people with SS's and GT's but no challengers, sorry. :(

Bad Idea closing this one. This is a great way to make threads like this last one disappear. Only the trolls and the haters frequent this one anymore anyhow.

Supercharged SS just recently went 10.1 @ 130 with a supercharged L99.
He had a 1.4 60 ft.
