That monstrosity of a four-door Dodge Charger has been performing pretty damn well in the marketplace.

Just sayin'.

Unfortunately the formula is changing... Gotta love C.A.F.E.

Hypothetical...
If it get's to the point that GM HAS to change the formula would you guys rather the Camaro adapt or cease to exist?

Isn't that why it disappeared? It reappeared as a success, why? It returned to its roots. I really like my Chevelle idea. It was a sedan body so it would be a perfect fit to battle other sport sedans. It could use the new Caddie platform and be a value based machine. Now let's get working on a great look...where's that GTO redesign that never happened?

Well, the Australians have something called the Commodore that they'll be sending us very soon.

Fen, do you remember the GTO redesign drawing? The one shown just before Pontiac died.

I do like this, but the design I remember was very edgy.

It may be performing well in the marketplace.........that still doesn't keep me from saying "Ewwwwwww, that's awful!". Too many things have IMHO changed for the worse, I still cling to the thought that pony cars and a new muscle car could be somewhat true to the original formula.

Then you have to decide, at what point does a Camaro cease being a Camaro? If we no longer have V8s? If they introduce a 4 door version? If it becomes a family oriented crossover platform? The possibilities are endless, we have to decide what would be acceptable to us and the rest of the buying public. And frankly I think most younger buyers and families could care less about the Camaro's heritage and as long as it looks pretty good has has all the latest gadgets available, they'll be happy. I won't be.

Camaro has to evolve to fit the times or die again. Heritage is important, but it's not everything.

For example, the 2.0T will most likely be the base engine for the 6th gen. It's a fantastic engine that will offer a great balance between performance and fuel economy. Yet a lot of people are already crying foul just because it's a four cylinder.

GM knows what the Camaro represents, and they'll do it justice.
