Sorry, this one jsut doesn't work for me. For some hybrid mixing of design eras seems to work, and that's just fine. That intermingling of eras just doesn't work for me.
To me there is a lot to be said about the cohesiveness of a given design. Whether or not it has styling cues from a prior era, is part and parcel of any given manifestation of a vehicle's design. Each Generation has its own unque traits. They appealed to differing tastes in many cases. If it works for the person who built it, then more power to them. Any additional appreciation by others is just frosting on the cake.

I once had an oldtimer tell me that in those days at the factory they would inspect the lead joint where the top of the c post and the roof panel met for quality of the bodywork. The cars that had the worst imperfections at that point were then tagged for vinyl top. I don't know how much truth there is to this story, but it makes perfect sense, especially in that era..
