Spent a good part of my day sanding from 120 grit to 5000 grit by hand and finished it off with some polish. The GMMG tips were nicked and scratched, had to grind out the scratches, and do the same with the tips. Plan on installing later today.

The tips that came with the catback fit great, the GMMG oval tips needs some tweaking. I might need some exhaust shims or Ill see what an exhaust shop can do.

I keep waiting for this guy to post that the car is sold. I give it about a 1% chance he keeps it through 2023
I LOVED my 01 Z/28 and regret selling it. I bought it brand new and modified it. Ive never enjoyed a car as much as it

Update:
I sold my 2000SS last June (2021) for a stupid crazy amount of $$$. Simply an offer I don't believe that I would ever see again. So after 16 years of ownership I parted ways with it. With the proceeds from the SS, in July of last year, I acquired a 2013 Summit White ZL1, 6spd, with only 6400 miles on it. Lightly modded with a Roto-Fab induction, 2.55" blower pulley, Kooks LT/ catted mid-pipes to factory exhaust. it dyno'd 590rwhp/ 576rwtq. Many memories were had with the SS from the first date with my girlfriend at the time (now wife). It's the car we drove off in on our wedding day, to my 3 y/o daughter covering her ears because "Daddies black car is too loud", on a cold start, I do not regret letting it go for this ZL1. Wife unit approves of the ZL1 hands down, just like she did with the SS. So starts a new chapter. **I am always on the look out for a 93-97 Trans Am, 6spd, hardtop. I shall have one of those again!!! |
