Quick Update: Another easy mod following Pfadt's instructions. The green lock-tie gives you about eight minutes to work so you need to work somewhat quickly. Spread it evening but not to much. After installing the bushing, you will install the ring on the other side of the bushing just as a safe keeper. (sorry didn't take pis installing the ring) Another piece of ART to compliment G5.R |

Shouldn't get much noise from using the street spherical kit. That kit is specifically designed with a plastic outer race that acts as a no-deflection material which gives a similar performance to our spherical race setup, but without any maintenance needed to reduce noise. Simply put, they won't squeak or anything like that and its designed to minimize vibration transfer.
To the OP. What an amazing build you're doing. I think I speak for everyone over here when I say that seeing our products on your build is a true compliment. You've got some talent, keep up the good work! |

Quick update: Flat trunk floor and diffuser tunnel. We are working on making a flat trunk floor and a tunnel thats going to cut through the carbon fiber ZL1 rear diffuser. This will give a better view of the rear end and all the trick Pfadt parts, as well as improve aero. Started by taking measurement and studying what we were going to remove and modify. The first step was to remove the spot welds on the cross bar. It was easier to cut the side first since some of the spot welds would be hard to reach. Next we cut off the lower section of the cross panel. And finally...... Next came cutting out the pan You can see the mock-up board in the trunk we will be making to use as a template. Next we drilled through the spot welds to free up the trunk pan from the rear panel. With the trunk panel free, we will bend it upwards to fill in the gap.......kinda hard to explain but you'll get a better idea tomorrow when I post more pics. Next we trimmed a portion of what will make up the rear tunnel. The blue tape shows how much will be coming off. I weighed the parts that we cut off and total 18 lbs. by the time we are done, we will probably lose 22 lbs. I'm thing we will add 5-10 lbs. back for a total loss of approx 12-17 lbs. We are also making a custom made rear bumper which should be at least half the weight of the OEM. |

Not that you need the help, but I know Hennesseygrv, the guy with the white/ carbon fiber hennessey that lives in texas, cut up and relocated his trunk pan area when he ran his center exhaust. One of his threads had a bunch of pics of what they had to do if you need any more ideas. Lookin great! |

Ask and you shall receive, LOL... Part II of the trunk remolding!
Justin and I got a lot of work done today. Picked up where we left off yesterday by finishing the removal of what was left of the cross bar. Next, we cleaned up some knick-knacks that we'll no longer have a need for.... We'll also be cleaning all the crappy seams. Next, we cleaned the factory pinch welds of any excess. Before..... After........ Man, I don't even know how to describe why we were doing what we were doing in the next two pictures... we will just say it was necessary and it fell under the category.... work. Here, you can see part of the bath tub taper down. We needed it to be flat so it will meet with the new filler panel. By creating some relief cuts, it allowed us to pull it up. I need a hair cut, LOL... And here is the final results....... For someone OCD like myself, I couldn't be happier. It came out really nice! The best part is that we removed 24 lbs. I'm also making a rear bumper out of aluminum that should drop another 20 lbs. In total, I think we will be down about 40 lbs! Once we are done with the inside of the trunk, we are going to spray the entire trunk with spatter paint playing homage to the first gen Camaros. Thought I'd post a couple of pics of our other garage. Next step will be to finish the filler panel. I'm having a friend of mine bead roll the logo "G5.R" in the center of the filler panel. wow....
side note: I definitely see where the Camaro team got the inspiration for the 14 and up taillights w/o your taillights in. They just filled in the whole section
