Camaro Freako - I would say this - if for some reason you know what the exact coding is (ie the code #) you could or someone here can look up the # and tell you what is causing the problem. If it does become such a big issue that you don't want to deal with it then I would take them off and revert back to stock. You can then sell them to someone here on the forum and recoupe most of your costs. I know your frustrated and you don't want to deal with this but you must now. When I placed my long tube headers on for the first time I got a code, realized something wasn't right, rechecked the system and wouldn't cha know the rear o2 sensors weren't snugged down enough. Once I did that I have yet to get a CEL since. And that is with close to 3k miles on them easily. So if you put them on yourself just recheck the work, but sounds like you paid someone to do it for you - I would just go back to them and say "what the hell?" and fix it now. Good luck to ya!

Oh and BTW - the Trifecta tune isn't visible on the v6 system if you get the full package so you can revert your tune back to stock. I have done it myself, and the dealer couldn't see anything. So that is two of us who have the same results for the tune.

Post #72, lol, I just went and looked But for those who can't get custom gaskets like yours, or get the stacker to seal up any other way, I think sleeving that section and welding it would be the best bet.

Have I mentioned that JBA needs to redesign that section??

He made his own. They go between the stacker flanges on the headers and the ones welded to the factory midpipe.

I need to check out BBK pics, hopefully they didn't really use that style of connection.

I went back and checked screamings install of the JBA headers and the flange in front of the converter is different than the BBK flange. Looks like the BBK flange would seal better than the JBA. I'm going to check out my headers next week to see if I can find any leaks. I'm going to use a smoke machine used for checking evap systems for leaks. With this smoke machine should be able to find even a pin hole leak.

You will need to get a tune. Trifecta has a great tune for the V6 Camaro. Vince makes it real easy for you to tune your car. All you need is a laptop computer, the Trifecta Cable and an Email address and you are set up. Let me know if you need any help with this. You can also switch back to your factory tune if you need to.

I see others have installed their headers and didn't get the CEL, so why would i need a tune when others didn't?!

If you are running shorty headers, you shouldn't need a tune, as the o2 sensors don't get moved, especially the rear one, which stays in it's factory bung, and location. The rear one causes the majority of the issues, either due to leaks, shorty headers, or relocation/loss of factory cats, long tube headers.

Again, if you are running shorty headers, and are getting a 2097/2099 code, you have a leak somewhere, more often time then not. If they are JBA shorty headers, look at the stacker flange. DT fixed it by having a 100% weld on installation, one can do the same with JBAs with a bit of cutting. Make sure you have zero leaks before the rear o2 sensor, and you should fix your CEL.

I have the JBA Shorty headers and they are welded, so i guess its not a leak issue?

Are they welded between the header and the cats? That's not how theirs are designed, but I don't know who did your install.
Any way you can get access to a scan tool and tell everyone the codes that are tripping? It may help.
If there's a leak in the install it isn't going to be fixed by a tune.

U sure can I found out using flux core wire ..it leaves the weld to pores its like a air stone in a fish tank. So use gas with your MIG welder or tig is the best !
