dirty looks from other camaro owners

It never hurts to try to be friendly by waving, a thumbs up or just a nod of your head. Kindness goes a long way, IMHO. I've still got my perma-grin and nobody can take it away from me, lol.

I never wave or look. i dont care. if you got some crazy mods i can see then i look for a bit. kids always try to race me..from minvans to station wagons. they always speed by yelling and laughing like they won the "race". a lot of people stop and say "nice car" at gas stations and are respectful.

I had a Red Jewel LT pull up beside me one time. He rolled down his window and I did the same. Then he yelled over to me "Nice car!". So I yelled it back.

So I do that from time to time to others now.

The Mustang guys seem to look away when I catch them looking . I have to disagree with you though. Camaro owners like to see their own cars in action and how they look from the outside. Usually a nod or a thumbs up

LOL, when passing mustangs, the girls in the car are usually gawking or pointing while the driver is looking straight ahead like they have blinders, and yes, I always seem to get a wave from the challanger and camaro owners

I agree, almost no one ever waves. I did a few times, but got nothing in return.

As far as getting "respect", I do not want nor expect any.

Just a nice "hi" or "wave" would be nice though ...

Agreed! I always wave and flash lights anyway. Now here's a story to tell:

On the way home from post the other day I encountered two Camaro's (both V6) and two Challengers. The first Camaro must have saw me coming in his rear view because he stomped on his gas and took off. It didn't take me long to catch up because he got caught in traffic. I was behind him for a while due to traffic and he kept trying to get away. I finally got tired of his game and went around him and blew him away but gave a friendly wave and a smile as I passed. Then, next thing I see is another Camaro and the process repeats itself... then come the Challengers, and they REALLY want to race!!! I didn't even play, just flew right past them and never even got up to 70mph.

On the other hand... I must give kindly kudo's to the owner of a very pretty white Challenger who lives out at Fort Benning. His name is Al from Chicago, he loves Camaro's and wanted to buy one but he just couldn't fit all of his 6'6" muscled body comfortably into one and had to settle for a Challenger instead. I invited him to join our Camaro Club as an honorary member and to come out in November to the race track so we could whip him up a bit. He was a good kid and said he'd love to do it!

I will usually wave if I see the car coming in time, I find it comforting to be friendly, regardless of whether the other driver acknowledges my wave, I am also a motorcyclist and am used to waving at others in my "club".

Around where I live when we see another Camaro we usually stop at the closet gas station and chat, always nice to meet people.

I always give 4 off the top of the wheel when I see another gen5 Camaro but around here rarely receive acknowledgment back.
