Saturday, October 23, 2010
We will meet up at about 10:30 a.m. at O'Quigley's Pub and Grill in the Best Buy strip mall on the south side of 98 (across from the Destin Commons).

We can meet-n-greet, do some pics in that large parking lot, have lunch, and cruise Old 98. Then we will go "rolling roadblock' style (two-by-two) down 98 over to Okaloosa Island and stop at a park there on the bay for some pics with the water as background if you would like.

We would love to have a record number of camaros and the full spectrum of colors. So post up!! Include your car color too!

Let's Pack the Pub! :party0048:

Great Question!! I'm a GPS fanatic when I travel, so I don't know why I didn't think of this. Sorry.

Johnny O'Quigley's
34940 Emerald Coast Parkway
Destin, FL 32541
850-837-1015

Emerald Coast Parkway is also known as Highway 98. Coming from Pensacola (whether you take 98 E straight over or take I10 E and come south to 98) when you see the Destin Commons (a big outdoor mall-you'll see a Bass Pro Shop and a Hard Rock Cafe with the big neon Guitar) on the north side of 98, you will also see the Olive Garden, Sonic, Best Buy, and PetSmart shopping center on the south side of 98. O'Quig's is behind the Olive Garden on the south side of 98.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you need anything else.

We would love to have you come up. Our plans are pretty simple.

Meet -Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the O'Quigley's Irish Pub and Grille
34940 Emerald Coast Parkway (same thing as Hwy 98)
Destin, FL 32541
850-837-1015
(located across from the Bass Pro and Behind the Olive Garden on the South side of Hwy 98)
Greet one another - Old friends, new friends, spectators, etc. ; take pics of our cars together, apart, different angles, etc. The amateur photographer comes out in all of us.
Eat - at O'Quig's - They have plenty of room reserved for us and our rides. The owner is a big car lover and welcomes us.
Street - (or Cruise-see post #1 ) We will emerge fat and happy from the eats and get in formation to cruise the beach and then ride 'rolling roadblock' down to a park on Okaloosa Island for a pretty backdrop of water, sand, and sea oats. OR we could bust up in the Vettes in the Village carshow for grins and giggles...

That's pretty much the end of the 'planned' part. According to acatlover13, the track is unavailable so that part is out.
Sometimes, people will make plans in smaller groups afterward to go to dinner, drinks, or cruise further.

FYI for ANYONE coming to the area to stay the night.
If you book 2 nights or more in Okaloosa county ask your hotel/condo/whoever about the TDC debit card.
The Okaloosa County Tourism Development Council is issuing $200 debit cards to visitors booking 2 nights in Okaloosa county.
The cards must be spent IN Okaloosa County.
So you could technically have a pretty good time while you are here.

Check the thread and look for others from your area or who might come through your area and hook up with them to convoy into Destin.

The floor remains open for questions.......

Stuff to do in Destin

I got some more info on MotorFest. I'll make a courtesy call to them and let them know we will be gathering, but no limelight stealing was intended.

Noon is Vettes at the Village at Baytowne Village in SanDestin
At 5:30 p.m. at the HarborWalk Village in Destin (that's at the Harbor behind the Emerald Grande) there will be a "Fly Over"
At 7:30 p.m. The Guess Who will be playing at HarborWalk Village
At 9:15 p.m. There will be a fireworks display at HarborWalk Village

For those of you without kids, football addictions, or long drives, it sounds like a fun evening!

We can do our thing at O'Quigley's and cruise and .....
