If a dealership has sold all V8's, then these are pre-sold orders and the statement by GM a month ago should apply (all pre-sold orders will be built by October).
So you're saying at 6/mo. that dealer won't be getting all 67 allocation cars by the end of Q3? But remember their built rate will be low at first, I suppose so workers can become completely comfortable with their tasks, and then ramp up in the months to come.

EDIT: At 10% of allocation, my dealer will get half a car. YIKES!!!

It was said that every dealer will get at least one of their allocation for the 1st month. They may not get any allocation the following month however.

No, I am saying he WILL be getting all 67 by the end of Q3. Greg is saying otherwise. I also expect start-up to be slow.

Well, Greg is saying they'll get all 67 but not necessarily in the V8/V6 mix they have ordered...

Sorry, Hylton, I must have missed something, which appears to be a good thing!

And I believe they'll get whatever they ordered before Q3 is up. They may end up getting 90 allocations with the extra 23 being v6's or something but they'll get all of the 67 cars that were preorderd before the end of 3rd quarter. This was stated several times by Scott and I have no reason to think that he would lie to us.

That does not make any sense when all 67 are V8's. Perhaps we are using a bad number here because an allocation of 67 is one of the largest.

Let's take my dealer for example which has a better number that most can relate to - he got an allocation of 6 and all are pre-sold as V8's. GM never told the dealership that they had to be "X" amount V6 and "X" amount V8's. They just said you are guaranteed 6 cars - go sell them.

So now he has 6 people commited and GM knowing this (they had the numbers in December) stated that all pre-sold orders will be built by the end of Q3. Pretty straight forward statement if you ask me.

So, every dealership gets at least 1 car in the first month? If so, and there are 4,500 dealerships and 20 build days a month, that's a rate of 225 cars a day. Seems kinda high to me. AND every one of them would be a V6 dealer stock car.

The plant can easily do 225 cars a day. In fact, it is capable of more than double that.

Well month and a half or so. I agree but that's what they said in the IDL.

I asked my dealer about this allocation and he told me this-
"We will not have our February consensus (for March production) until the 18th. In any event, any allocations that appear in the February consensus will be for stock units…retail sold orders never show up in those numbers. I have no way of telling, at this time, which sold orders will be built in March. Let’s assume one will be scheduled for production the week of March 16th…in that case, the order will have to progress from Event 1100, all the way up to Event 3400 prior to that week. We check the order status every day, so we will know when they start moving thru the system. Believe me, as soon as an order starts to move, I will let that person know."

So is this guy just an idiot?

Yup. Idiot. The consensus is 100% today. It's right on the chevylaunch.com site. And it's their choice which cars come first (stock or sold). The only one that they don't get a choice on is the stock V6 that will be sent to all dealers but that is separate from allocation, sold orders, etc.
