I finally got more than "I don't know" out of my dealer today. The car has been sitting in Birmingham (offloaded from rail) ,which is 227 miles away, since the 23rd. Today I was told that the General Manager is trying to work out transportation for the vehicles. Of course I ask how long that will take. A week, month, etc.?? And I get "We really don't have any idea." Like I said, I got more than an "I don't know". Gotta love it!!!!

at least your car is in the same state. mine was built on 2/7, put on a train last week and now stuck in Ohio for some unknown reason. As of today it's been four months since I put my order in on 11/29.

It was more of a knock on the dealer than the process/issues itself. Just about all the information they get comes from me. I will never visit them again after the car gets here and also make sure that everyone I come into contact with knows about how incompetent they are.

Sorry for your wait. I know it's beyond frustrating.

I can go one better Stork. Two weeks ago I was so frustrated, I contacted GM Corporate Headqauters and was put in touch with VIP Customer Service. I went the high road and spoke calmly for a week, getting numerous lies or being mislead. This companies communication within itself is outright horrible. The plant would tell Corporate that the vehicle was in a distribution center, when in fact it was still at the striping factory (my car was there for 44 days). Then they told me it was going through QC. I responded with what was the issue since cars seemed to be passing mine in QC. No reply. They then told me there was a file on my car, I was like, what's in this file? No response. Last thursday they told me the car had left on a train and gave the railcar #. The railcar left on Friday. I have come to the reality that GM is the most poorly run company in the nation. It worries me that I'm spending this amount of money on a vehicle ( I've never spent more then 24k on a car) and the very company I am buying from is so inept at communication and tracking a 4000lb car. I listen to everyone saying it is worth it. Ok, you wait and give me your car!!! And just to put icing on the cake, Corporate told me they would give 6 months of Onstar for free for my troubles. My response was, knock me down and hit me with a baseball bat. Keep your Onstar.

I talked to corporate a couple times and was told that it's in the distribution cycle and the dealer should know where the car is and when it should get to me. So I asked the lady "Shouldn't you also know where it is and when it's getting here?" (Crickets chirping) Then I said, "Well if GM and my dealer doesn't know where the car is, how about I go pick it up and just take it for free? You guys would never know, right?" I think that's why they decided to put OnStar in every vehicle, so they can track the ones they lose.
The other funny thing about talking to the stealer yesterday was...... I talked to the title lady who receives the invoices and asked if she has any status or estimate on arrival. She said, "I don't know if I should tell you this....." I interrupted her and said "about the trucking strike?" She said "Oh you already know about that?" I didn't have the heart to tell her that every living and breathing person that cares about getting their car knows about it.

My dealer just sent me a couple of pic of my convertible setting at their dealership. Gotta go there a sign some papers and take some pic as soon as I leave work. I will be picking it up tomorrow after work. Tomorrow seems so far away.

Baup5f,
I will get back to you on the brand later this evening. It was offer through GM with their upholstery protect, rust proofing and paint protection etc.

Baup5f,
The name of the paint protection is "Diamond-Kote". The paint protection is only $350 not the $1200 I stated earlier. I put the upholstery, rust and paint protection on my truck for 1200.

Super fantabulous day today. The dealer said they are working on getting my car here ASAP (whatever that means) and I got hit with a ridiculously short deployment notice. I might get to sign the papers and drive it home before heading out!!!

Thanks for the info Dave, nice car too. The dealer here sells something called "Cilajet". $650 for a exterior and interior protection. Debating on whether to get it. Most of the reviews online for it are from people badmouthing the cost, but they don't actually have it.

Baup5f,
I was a little hesitant at first when I had it applied to my truck in 2007. After seeing the results over the last 4 years I will never buy another vehicle with out having it applied. I not a person who likes to spend an afternoon washing and waxing my toys. I just hose it down and it's good enough for me. For some reason I thought I paid $1200 when I had it applied to my truck. I was willing to spend that again to have it applied to my Camaro. Needless to say I was very happy to find out that it would cost me allot less.

Waiting on the 'pick her up' at the moment. I guess the car arrived at the dealer some time last night. I think a few calls from GM to the dealer may have sped things up a bit. Not sure they were in any hurry otherwise. PICs to follow tonight!!
