If I'm not mistaken, dealer's BAC's are not (and should not be) public knowledge. That probably contributed to the thread being closed by GM as well.

For those that are challenging a moderator, it's not a good thing that can come of it, like it or not.

nah, Nothing to worry about. It really takes a lot to get banned from here.

Unless you are a spammer.

so, just to clear things up... can you answer these..

Was DealerInfo banned? (or is it just 1 deleted thread)

I read in a post somewhere that he was "dealt" with. I was just hoping that the mods did realize that he was only trying to help.

However, if he was warned about posting the info, and continued anyways... His fate should be at your discression.

Is there something he could of changed about the thread that would have made it OK? (Like the DAN column that sac-au-lait was refering)

If so, (and if DealerInfo is still around) can we fix it and get a new thread started?

Nope he wasn't banned. For what I would call obvious reason's, he's chosen not to post again. You can check to see if someone is banned by looking at their profile. It will show "banned" if we'd punted them.

I read in a post somewhere that he was "dealt" with. I was just hoping that the mods did realize that he was only trying to help.

I'd already posted that we all, GM included, felt like he was just trying to help. Again, there has been zero punitive action against him. Nor has GM asked us to take action against him.

However, if he was warned about posting the info, and continued anyways... His fate should be at your discression.

Agreed.

Is there something he could of changed about the thread that would have made it OK? (Like the DAN column that sac-au-lait was reffering)

I can't answer this one. We weren't given a real detailed reason as to why it wasn't allowed. Other than "Proprietary" and "Private". We don't feel it is our place to second guess GM. We don't like to censor our members either. So, this was not easy for us to do.

If so, (and if DealerInfo is still around) can we fix it and get a new thread started?

That is something GM will have to weigh in on. None of us here know that answer.

As one of my other threads says:

Why aren't people contacting their dealers for this info. And if you won't because they can't be trusted (or are idiots), why did you give them your money??

The sales guy I'm working with seems to want to help, as well as the original sales manager who actually placed my order (now gone, unfortunately). What seems to be the problem in my particular case is the sales management team at the dealership.

The sales guy claims to not have direct access to the list of preordered Camaros, nor to the allocation/consensus information. He has to work through his sales managers, and they seem to be Problem Children. Always too busy, loses written or printed requests for information, etc.. I've tried talking to them myself and gotten the same treatment, as a customer.

I haven't switched dealers because I don't want to lose my place in line, as poor as it may be (in the teens, I think). Ultimately, my car is coming from GM, not the dealer. GM, I trust. I'm just using this dealer as a conduit.

Thank god for you guys on this site. Without you I'd be entirely clueless about what was going on with this dream car I've ordered.

There in lies my problem. You paid MSRP I guess for this car? And now the dealer doesn't have time to deal with you? That's BS.

My dealer is an idiot as well....most of my information is coming off this website. I agree that GM needs to step in and get involved with some of their dealerships if they want to survive the current economic crisis.

I agree. You should call Chevrolet Customer service.
