too bad with all the money we the American peopled dumped into saving GM. They were not forced to build in the US!

Well, I will bet that the high price tag have nothing to do with modifications. The gas they have in major cities may not be as clean as the gas here, but not much worse.

The cause of the price is tax.
There's a 25% import tax on all cars being imported into China, a 17% VAT, and 25% tax based on the engine displacement(25% for 3.6L V6, 40% for 4.0L or above.)

All taxes are accumulative as far as I know.
so a nicely equipped 2LT is about $32K USD here(MSRP), after all three taxes I mentioned it's about $58.5K. There could be one or two other kinds of taxes.

Why do this stupid phonetic change to the name???? I'm sure that the Chinese can say Camaro. The changed version almost looks like a tacky, stereotyped name change... the only thing missing is the buck teeth and coke bottle glasses. Just call the damn thing a Camaro and let them deal with how to say it.
