Note to self: even my lowly Civic has a valet key. Maybe I can buy replacement Camaro key/transmitter fob, and then smash key fob leaving only the key?
dont believe anything you hear from a dealer . all my friends are the biggest assholes when it comes to customers on the phone . first off these guys dont know anything about this car . i asked a friend to get me a pillar clip and they are not in stock or dont know when . im just saying if its been made its out there . my brother in law is a lock smith and he has the machine with gm codes . he needs to get a supply of the key blank he will let me know in the next couple of days . i will let you guys know what i find out . also gm told me air intake wont be out for about 6 months .. i f you really need a key for valet just buy an extra set up and break the key off .yes might be expensive but it will work if not just lock your keys in the car and borrow someones phone and call onstar to unlock

No, I'm not asking because I want to valet the car but I need a non-electronic key for my personal use!!!!
While I was up drooling over my 2SS which came in today, I asked around at the dealer and was told that the GTO's came with the same type of key and they had to send it out (to Tenn.) to get keys made and he was pretty sure about one being made for the door only a little over a year ago. They are doing some checking to see if the place is still in bussiness! I also got an address of a local place that might be able to do it but not to get my hopes up. However, I will check this place out once I pick up mine and can show them the key and I'll get back to you! So the possiblity of getting a door only key made looks promising.... so far!

im sure its been mentioned but a regular cut key wont work since the transponder in your colomn wont see a signal and then your passive thft system will activate and then your towing your car

That wouldn't be a problem for me since I would use the regular key to actually start the car. I just need to get in the door.

water proof would be nice if not just for the fact that sometime I leave my keys in my pocket and the the wife washes them.

I am going with a after marked Security system that has a smaller Fob.
And I have some of the OP water Proof pockets.
That is how I plan on doing it. Well at least day trips with the body board.
My Stick wont fit in the Camaro.

My normal boards are 5'6" - 6'2" so they should fit. I haven't figured out how I'm going to get the log to the beach though.

Can you get me a blank key/fob? Uncut unprogrammed? I want to use for photography and just to have, I really like the key! I kept calling around various Chevy Dealers, and they keep wanting a vin, I don't want a key cut or programmed, just the darn key I won't be able to afford a new camaro until next year, I am itching to have one though! Just for the sake to satisfy my "want" of it, and also to use in photography for my flickr account and stuff, can you get them?

Can anyone get them?

I always take a Zip-Lock bag with me to the beach to put my wallet/money/keys in. You can have it in you pocket and be in the water all day and all the stuff will be dry. I do it all the time when i go party in MEXICAN waters. Works like a charm.

Just wondering if a valet key would work at all..... I can't lock my door until both doors are closed. If I try to lock with the door open, the car automatically unlocks itself.

Just an idea but if there is a small "tool and Die" or "machine" shop in your area they could take your key and mill another off of the sample.
