Hmm, I'm not sure. If it was a $350 stand alone option or bundled with stuff I wanted anyway, I'd take it. If not, I won't lose a wink of sleep over it.

Like i said earlier in this thread HUD would 'wow' a lot of people. Especialy girls who havnt seen it, even if they're not wowed by the car in general.

A tach and G-meter sounds nice, but my wifes '04 Grand Prix has a HUD and it shows three things: mph, air temp., and direction. That's it. If there is a problem it has a warning that pops up telling you to check either the DIC or guages. I hope it has one though, they are VERY nice(when working, anyway), esp. at night when you can turn off ALL the other interior lights.

Nothing better than a HUD

As long as it is an option, you can install your own HUD with out having to buy the other package options you may not want. I know a lot of vette guys who bought HUD off of corvetteforum for a few hundred dollars and did self installs (yeah it's a pain and you rip apart your dash, cut a hole and plug in some wires) but when it's done it works just like factory installed!!

There hasn't been any hint that HUD would be an option... only hoping as it's a very cool feature and would very cool on the Camaro.

I would pay $500 if it was just the HUD, I love that thing.

and vettencle.. That makes me want it even more on my Camaro!

Actually...."I wouldn't rule it out from a top of the line model" was told to me a while back. I won't say who said it, though. A possibility? I'd say so. Will it happen? You never know.

There have been a LOT of hints in threads over at camaroz28.com, by those seemingly in the know, that a HUD will be an option.

I hope it's a stand-alone option if they do go with a HUD. I have it in my C6, and it's a decent feature, but more often than not I forget to look at it since the car isn't a daily driver. I just forget that it's there. The windshield is also different with the HUD, and it's WAY more expensive to replace when the time comes.

Honestly, I'm looking at the Camaro because I want a car that doesn't have all the technical mumbo-jumbo attached to it. I'm sick of push button start, wireless key fobs (and all the issues that come with them), heated this-and-that, On-Star, etc. I want a simple hot rod with a key, a strong engine, good brakes, and a smooth, tough drivetrain!

I wasn't thinking about the top of the line model, I would hope it an option for the models under the top dog. I'll take a "possibility"!

I was not aware of that Bluestreak, I haven't been reading the Camaroz28 boards. Well I love being wrong on things that work out for the better, in this case the HUD as a possible option.
