Does the aftermarket kit work through the stock controls? If so, it probably still will. If not, it still won't.

Anyone know if there is additional information on this kit being released? How would I find out when it is to be released? I keep coming back here, but not many updates yet.

I'm not as impressed with the look of this kit as much as some of you are. Just doesn't flow with the car's interior to me

I like it everything except the black buttons.. should be smooth buttons like volt or matching plastic to rest of the bracket

So, $2k to upgrade my stock head unit to something useful. Hmmm.. This is gonna be a hard sell. I'm torn between my need for high-tech/quality sound and my short 15 mile round-trip drive to work. I spend more time polishing the car and looking at it than I do driving it. (like my wife).

2k. I thought I saw it was going for 400. Or so. Depending on the options you choose.

Talked to the Scosche guys at SEMA. it will be released this month. I would think the Alpine kit would be close. The MSRP is around $320. They had 20% discount cards at the show. It was installed in a Vert Camaro and everything worked. HVAC, and car functions and options. I can't wait. Gonna pre order soon.

$400 for the kit + ~ $1K for the head unit + $x for the install + $x for any extras like a backup camera, etc... all in, you're probably around $2k or more if you're doing other system upgrades as well.

Your math is pretty much spot on. I spent $1700 and I already had my two amps and tweeters so it could go north of 2k real fast!
