GCR Inferno Orange Metallic

All as per my prediction as well.

The new cgm replacement ashen gray is a 2013 color
Same goes for claret red.
Sorry to be the bringer of bad news for those wanting the later.
You will have to wait for march/april when 2013 starts production
Ashen Gray Metallic and Crystal Red Tintcoat are both listed on Camaro overview page on the Chevy website.

Besides, production of the 2013s will start in July 2012.

Thanks DirtyD, I did not notice that Chevy had updated their website. I can finally see the Camaro in Crystal Red.

I will second this. I like this over RJT anyday. Going to be in my top choices for sure.

The Crystal Red is very deep looking without being as dark as the Red Jewel Tint. It is also much brighter in the full sun. I took me a while to decide the Crystal Red and the Victory Red. But the more times I saw the Crystal Red on the street, the more I liked it. I am just hoping that the interim availability will not hold the production back.

+1..on the yuck for the Crystal red..It looks like a 90's grandpa sedan color, the name "claret" nails it..
Whats wrong with the people in charge of color selection at Chevrolet? If you look at the color palette its just...well, BLAH. Where's some vibrant kick ass color??? No bright blue??? no bright red, no green? Even the IOM is a washed out blah shade. I think I would have as color choices:

Black metallic (carbon flash)
White metallic pearlcoat
ABM
IBM
Bright metallic red
Victory Red
Synergy Green
Bright Gold metallic
Hugger Orange
Daytona Yellow

Cant argue with you! Blah is the word! Mind you with your awsome color choices,I would have a nervous break down trying to decide. GM made it easy for us,instead of worrying about which color is the sweetest We just have to worry about which is least fugly!

..thank you..and its just that easy to have a nice color palette. If I were a Manufacturer I would not want to force my customers to pick which is the least ugly color....lol

Will 2013 ZL1 convertible production start in July 2012 along with the rest of the 2013 Camaro models?

Color palette offerings are a difficult challenge for GM these days. It's not as it was in 1969 when there were 18 different color choices available for the Camaro. Cost constraints limit the number of color choices that can reasonably be offered today. Considering that color choice is very personal and totally subjective, a color that one individual loves another will hate, and vice-versa. With the limited number of colors that GM can offer, there will always be some individuals who feel that the current color palette offering is inadequate. GM tends to offer colors that sell in high volumes. Unfortunately, many of the colors desired by enthusiasts do not sell in large numbers, and therefore, are not able to be offered, as the price to do so would be prohibitive.

I have seen supporters of the "competition" complain that they don't like the color palette that the "competition" offers. These days it is very difficult for any auto manufacturer to offer a color palette that will satisfy all of its enthusiasts and potential customers.
