they went through all that trouble to black out the rear lights when really they could have just had them smoked with transparent black vinyls

When we first tried to black out the gills they weren't absolutely perfect so they were scrapped. The finish is top notch on these now. I'm very happy with the result. It's a different look for sure but a better one overall.

Yes but they are still DOT certified legal. Add tint then thats out the window.

Nope. Texas too. And Probably most states have something on the books that state that light must be visible up to so many feet. Tint reduces the visible light coming out of the tail lights. The darker they are with the further you are away reduces the visible light.

how is the bow tie blacked out like that? is it some kind of film put over the emblem or is there a clear piece that can be popped off where you can insert something under? or is it a whole new bow tie that just needs to be changed out?
