Driving it seemed to be fine, until later it started to misfire and acted really weird when there was an rpm increase, like if you were going up a hill, etc.

The MAF got damaged/dirty/blown out from the super charger and left me stranded in Tallahasse for two days while a dealership rushed order a new MAF.

Anyways, my point to to telling all of this is, if it is MAF related I'd think it would be getting worse and but it hasn't happened for a week? That's strange.

I certainly hope you are right. Last time it wasn't 'In the tune' as I had Vengeance and ARD both look at it and agree there was something physically wrong. The header leak later I still think was a coincidence. But if not then I'll be glad to have someone fix it.

What I mean by not happening in over a week is the dying at idle while moving in gear after light throttle. But the tachometer irregularity is constant.

I'll take a video of the tach and post a log of the idle shortly.

If you are right it'll be taken care of at the fest.

When we get to the fest you need to speak with Mike Norris.

He's pretty well known for being an exceptional LS tuner...

I'll introduce you to him. And he's based out of Indy.

My Ss does the exact same thing, installed cam and super and when cold in morn idles fine soon as it warns up hunts badly when first starting and if it is coming off revs fast will dip below idle and die or bounce high and fall down again, working on Tyne with Ted but no luck so far.mid to top is perfect

Ok, I have now ruled out and fixed the kinked hose. (Still the same hose but it has no obstructions..... My new data logger logged that hose fine as well )

Compression and leak down tests were good. (I hate doing those because if you do the test in hopes of not find anything. lol)

Fuel Pressure logs strong even through boost (7.5 psi boost) and at idle. (dropped 5 psi at full boost up to 20 psi over the consistant 57 psi)

Don't have AFR logging capabilities.

Bypassed the catch can system including breather.

At this point I have to leave it to the tuners.

I'm wondering if the kinked hose didn't have to do with the surging and the erratic idle a seperate issue. Only thing happening currently is the irreatic idle.

[Another PSJ back in the old day's comment coming]

Back in the old days of the 4th gen scene, we had major difficulty tuning large cams before HPT and LS1 Edit. The IAC counts would be nuts. The IAC values would go up and down, from 1 to the max, which I think was 25. The little IAC was a mechanical stopper looking deal that was bolted into the TB. The pcm would push the stopper tight, no extra air... open it up some, let in air. But an untuned PCM couldn't get it right.

We'd drill big holes in the TB blade. We'd use a star wrench and turn the screw under the throttle, which would raise the idle. You could raise it quite a bit that way.

Big tangent, cuz 5th gens are DBW. I don't even know where the IAC is, and I've had my TB off.

Is idle on the low side or normal?

I'm sure it's in the tune as long as you don't have some other issue.

Parked Idle is normal. Just erratic by about 50 rpms both ways.

Not sure how I feel about this fuel pressure at highest boost.

If I'm going to go to 8.5-9.0 psi I guess I better further upgrade my pump?

I may be off 100%.........but I remember having similar issues with the LS2 in my GTO. Forgive me, its been quite a while since I've played with the HPT.........but I'm remebering something to do with the VE tables. We had too much fuel at idle. Cams need less at idle than stock. Many want to naturally richen things up. After dropping out some fuel, its smoothed out dramatically. Would get an occasional dip, but I could live with that.
Just a thought.

If it's a fuel thing then I'll be happy as hell. That will mean it's in the tune.
