If I was stuck with it, I would put it on and have it painted and make sure you go to a reputable place that does car restoration, not just a collision place that bangs out insurance jobs!!

As for the Tranny, I would go to the other Chevy Dealer, I highly doubt a Cadillac dealer will have the mechanics with ANY Camaro training. See what they say, and demand that a local GM REP come and hear it. I personally would not stop with them until I get resolve. Good Luck and make sure you AND your Husband go to drop it off, unfortunately, women never get treated as serious..........as ridiculous as that my be.

it's a tremec tr6060, there is no such thing as a "camaro transmission".

A little clutch chatter can be normal. See if you can get the dealer to bleed the clutch. Maybe there is an air pocket or something.

I know how you feel. When I had my Pontiac G6, I would sometimes take it in for things that the service people also could see/hear but they said that they couldn't do anything about it because there wasn't a service bulletin for my issue. Very frustrating. That car and dealer experience is what turned me away from the Camaro. I might come back to it in a few years (if it's still around) but I feel your pain. :(

Back in the '80s and '90s, stories like yours were somewhat common, but times have changed. Automakers can't afford quality lapses like that anymore, because consumers will simply not stand for it.

New cars shouldn't have glitches, even first year models. My '05 Mustang is over 4 years old with 41K miles, and still has not been back to the dealer for a single problem. Not even a minor issue.

Don't settle for less than a perfect car!!
The quality has definitely improved since I bought mine. I will say this - when I got problems fixed, they stayed fixed. When all the kinks were repaired, the car needed nothing for a LONG time. Guess that's one reason why I've kept it this long.

Good luck.
I've had/have a few minor annoyances with my Colorado since the day I bought it. I've brought it to several dealers and they all tell me the same thing. "Normal operating condition".
I'm pissed just typing this. The issues haven't affected the performance of the vehicle at all, but they bother me.
One is my A/C. On hot days it cycles cold to cool and back again over and over. They tell me nothing is wrong, but they are unwilling to put the gauges on the system without charging me. Even when it was under warranty.
The other is a gear whine/gear rattle noise. All the dealers threw a piece of paper in front of me that says those noises are normal. The noises are not normal. I would know. I was an engineer at New Process Gear for 8 years. All we did was design & build transmissions and transfer cases. I know gears and transmissions.

This is why I will never buy another 1st year vehicle again.

Hmm thats not good. It sounds like a input shaft. At any rate, that should not be happening on a brand new car with less than 1k miles on it. Hell you should not be hearing that with 20k miles on it !

Now if I wanted to poke fun I would <insert here> something about GM QC...But being a car lover, its just not right that anyone would or should have to go through this with a new car. Does your state have a lemon law ? You may want to look into it as a last resort...Your dealer should be doing something about this.

Just drive it until it breaks. It'll still be under warranty. You have proof you took it in and they didn't find a issue. I assume you got a reciept for your visit?

Ever hear of the Monday car ? Friday cars are second .
Mondays No one is ready to work so they are sloppy , Tuesday they get in a grove , Wednesday every one is on point ( The best day of the week to have your car built on ) Thursday they start itching for the weekend and start to drift off , Friday for get it they can't wait to go home ! And they keep looking at the clock .
What day was your car built on?

1st, 2nd, and sometimes into 3rd. It seems to get worse the longer I drive it. Plus, the engine shakes when I'm at an idle. I've never had a muscle car before so I don't know if this is normal. I am going to take it into the dealer tomorrow but can anyone tell me if they have had any of these problems? I absolutely HATE to have to take my car in and have people around it and getting in and out, slamming my doors. Basically people just touching it makes me cringe! Oh, one other thing. My sunroof sliding door is warped or something because it snags somewhere in there when I open and close it. This just sucks!
I had my SS 1.5 days and the axle stripped out. It's going to be a while until the part comes in. Maybe this is your problem as well????
