No, he said the same trap speed (112 was achieved by Hot Rod). I think he's a moron but he was actually correct on that point.

Hot Rod didn't use a real track. They used GPS.

I think the LSX motors are great and clearly have limitless potential but they are not necessarily stronger engines just because they produce more hp. Clearly FI on a Honda is no less reliable than any other make. I find it entertaining that you blindly believe that anything with less than 8 cylinders is worthless.
What good is HP per Liter?? Does HP/L make your car faster?? Does it make it get better fuel economy?? No, its just a meaningless statistic that ricers made up to try and justify smaller engines.

The LSX is a MUCH stronger engine than your Honda 4 cylinder. You're comparing a 2 bolt main, open deck block 4 cylinder against a 6 bolt main, closed deck, deep skirt block V8. The LSX architecture makes it one of the strongest engine designs in existance...nobody has ever said that about a Honda, because they aren't. I've seen connecting rods in gocarts that are the same size as the rods in the H22 I was assembling the other day. Now thats a joke. And guess why that engine blew up?? The owner boosted it.

I never said anything without 8 cylinders is worthless. There are plenty of cars that serve other purposes and use 4 and 6 cylinder engines. But if you're looking to go fast, there is no point to trying to do it with a 4 banger.

A good example is the Cobalt SS T/C. Sure its only a 4 banger, but it makes 260HP and manages almost 30MPG highway - all for around $24K. Thats a great daily driver and a fun car. But you probably wouldn't cross shop one with a Camaro SS, they are in different leagues. But then you have cars like the Evolution and STI and S2000, which costs the same as a Camaro SS, yet can't even beat the Cobalt in acceleration or around a track. And they certainly aren't made to be abused like a Camaro, because they just break. And thats just pointless.

Wow, I'm beside myself. Those performance numbers are just plain sick, I would love to pay 100K to have one imported so I could pull the same numbers as a stock Mustang GT

Actually, on 2nd thought, I'll just take a Mustang GT track pack, because it pulls higher lat acceleration, has more torque, runs the same 0-60MPH, runs a faster 1/4 mile, stops 12 ft better from 60MPH, and I guarentee it gets better fuel economy. Not to mention it sounds 100 times better than a riced up straight 6.

Guess what?? You need to learn to read. I said same trap speed. Not same 1/4 mile time. Big difference.

And no, I don't think the Skyline is special. Especially after those numbers you posted. Get a grip.

I'll add my two cents. I have had a 1998 honda prelude fun car. I have had a 03 eclipse gts another fun car. And now I am ready for something different. I test drove a 02 trans am and told myself ill never buy another 4 or 6 cylinder car. I love the sound its awesome. And I like the fact that it can kick most cars ass stock vs stock and simple mods can make it really fast. To get the performance out of those cars i could get with a camaro is way too much money plus Im tall those small cars wont do anymore. Yes you could make those imports fast and there are a lot of fast ones out there but about 70% are not gonna keep up with a new camaro with the same mods. So there I confess I am a converted ricer and lovin it!!

i would love to see someone go up against the new GTRs they only have a straight 6....they are also something like the 3rd or 4th fastest production car in the world, AND they sell for less than any of the other top 10 fastest. Nissan is amazing, i still love chevy dont freak out, but everyone should be afraid if nissan did ever decied to put a 8 cyl in anything besides their trucks. I mean common, a straight 6 that will smoke a v12 viper, you gotta give it up
