27 V-8 Manual. Its a daily driver. Vehicles are so much more fun when you have full control of the gears.... I have driven exclusivly auto for the past 3 years... and I am sure glad to be back in a manual trans... boy have I missed it!

25, male. Went with auto because that's what I wanted! If I get paged in the middle of the night and have to go screaming up the road to the hospital, last thing I want to be doing is fumbling with a clutch.

"Do us SS owners rip on the LT owners because our engine is a V8?"

Some of you cop an attitude about it, yes. But it's ok to rip on a V8 because it's just so dang unnecessary unless you are a legitimate racetrack driver (which prob 95% of people who get the SS will never put it on a track). Requires premium grade and gets lower mpg and costs more. For what?

Anyways, mine's an automatic. I had a bad experience with a manual, and generally I think they are cool, but I think after a while I would get tired of constantly managing my gears on a daily driver. If it were something I took out once a week to show off with, it might be a little different.

I can still pretend to shift using the paddle shifters :P

48-year Female / Manual here!

Also have 76 Trans am with 6-speed and Vette with 6-speed. Feel more "in tune" with car driving a stick but that is just my opinion!

48, Automatic. I don't have a left leg, so I can't operate the clutch!! (Well I do have a prosthetic- but they have their own set of issues).

I still would have got an automatic. My wife is so cool, I would not buy a car she couldn't drive(Atleast once in a while- like if I've been drinking!! She's the designated driver always!!).

I think the V6 is great. With this car, that is all you really need, lol. You mention the speed thing, and that is my point with the Manual vs Automatic. The V8 is already punching 400 HP, that is a lot. I just hate that uneven jerking feeling with a manual.

The main reason to get a Manual is not to impress but to enjoy having more control of your vehicle and being able to do burnouts at will Obviously downshifting and starting at first gear when you want to without the hassle of putting the car into manual mode..etc.. It is up to you..

Thank you!

Age - 50

LS3 MN6

Got the 'stick' as part of the experience of enjoying this car. Have been shifting thru the gears since I learned to drive at age 10 in a Chevy LUV mini-pickup with four-on-the-floor.
