The price is good on these slicks and they are local, so I'll try to get them though I'm thinking about using them too.

I'm open to swapping the rear brakes. With that I'm thinking about doing to the car I might focus on a slick since I won't daily drive on them. Last outing was frustrating, I can usually modulate the gas and hook anything but I left on so little power that I can't run anything decent on the 555R's anymore. But I do like them on the street.

You think it's all because of the converter? You seemed to like them at the track prior to the converter.

Yep. I was consistent 1.85 with them prior to the converter. In fact sometimes I had too much tire. Stock converter seems to be around 1600.

I love this new converter I'm testing and it hits hard. I thought I could squeak out a 1.7 on them but I'm not having luck, I'm best of 1.93 leaving on no power.

Don't get me wrong, 555R's are a great street and track tire if you have a few bolt-ons.

I like Nittos overall, and MT's too, had many sets over the years.

The 555r's fit on stock 20's? Maybe we can make a deal if/when you get new tires.

I'm trying to hold off on the track until I can guarantee myself a 12 second pass. Tire should do that.

yeah, they have 555r's that fit the stock 20.

I just think PSJ has hit that point where he needs a little more side wall. The converter is just hitting to hard for the tires to grip. Even leaving at idle, the car would start spinning.

I would love slick, but i dont think funds are there for me to not only do the V6 swap. But then i have to get new rims and tires. So i gotta try and budget and see what i can find.

plus i also have to figure out my tuning situation. I lose 2-3 mph this time out at the track due to the new fuel pump actually holding fuel pressure up top. it was killing my MPH

Steve do you have extra rims, that would work well.

Jerry, if I get these slicks and put together a combo, you are more than welcome to try them I won't be driving on them. Just don't lose my wheel lock.
