Ok I'll chime in. This absolutely happened!

Me: “Everything sounds good. I'm going to buy the car.”

Older Salesman: “Alright, let's get things going.”

Me: Sounds good. “I have my own financing and you’re a preferred dealer so I'm going to run home and get my paperwork. I'll be back in about 30 minutes.”

Older Salesman: “Oh well you don't have to do that we can call up whomever you financed through and have them "vex" us the paperwork.”

Me: “Uhhhhh, what?”

Older salesman: “We can just have them Vex it over.”

Me: “Are you saying Vex with a V as in Victor?”

Older salesman: “What?”

Me: (At this point I was just staring at him.)

Older salesman: (He's staring back waiting for me to say something.)

Me: (Making sure I am super articulate) Did you say "V.E.X. - Vex?"

Older salesman: “Yes, we have a vex machine here and they can just vex it over”.

Me: (At this point I'm trying my best NOT to break as I clearly knew what he meant from the get go. I just wanted to see how far he would take it.) So, you have a Vex machine?

Older salesman: “Sure do.”

Me: “I think you mean fax machine don't you?”

Older salesman: “What did I say?”

Me: “Vex. With a V”

Older salesman: “Well you know what I mean. I can't keep up with all the new technology nowadays son.”

Me: “Hmmmm”

Older salesman: “So what do you want to do?”

Me: “I'm sure your concerned that either I won't come back in 30 minutes or your just super-efficient. Either way, I'm going to get my paperwork and I WILL be back.....you have my word.”

Older salesman: “Alright then. When you get back I’ll show you some pictures of MY Camaro if you’d like.”

Me: “Sure that would be cool” (and indeed he did)

Went to my local dealer wanting to check out some Camaros around the time when they first came out in mid to late 2009. My only car at the time didn't belong to me since I alternated between my sister's 2005 Malibu and my mom's PT Cruiser (which was the one I was using that day)... this is how I managed to save and eventually purchase my SS a year later. Salesmen walked out, looked at me (22 years old at the time) and glanced at the car I drove up in and told me to please not get too close to the Camaros since he had interested buyers for most of them out in the lot.

I didn't plan on purchasing at the time, I just wanted to get a closer look at them but for a salesmen to profile me like that was downright disrespectful. A year later, I ordered from Becky here on the board, the process was as smooth as silk... haven't looked back since and I've never visited a dealer down here again.

Same happened to me, doors were swing wide open for viewing and they wouldn't even let me sit in it. A-holes.

went to a dealership in Newmarket Ontario 2 weeks ago looking at new trucks.The salesman met in the lot,after talking for a bit i asked him when he expected the 14s to be coming in.He said he didn't know ...but he had a zl1 coming in 2 days.Went on to tell me how rare they are here in Canada,blah blah .....was in barrie for a car show a couple of days later only to see 3 zl1s at that dealership on the lot,,,,as well as a panther in the show room

you should drive your camaro to that dealer and see if he greets you again in the same manner

I hate when you decide your going to buy a vehicle, after youve been looking at a vehicle on one lot, and you tell the salesman/manager to give you their best absolutely lowest price on the vehicle, as your going to compare with other lots, they give it to you.

And you say thanks, I'm going to another lot to see what they offer, if yours is lower I'll be back, they almost every single time say something along the lines of "if they give you a lower price let us know and we will see if we can beat it"...huh? I thought the price I have on this sheet was your absolute lowest price........

When I had my car in to get some things updated that weren't ready upon delivery, I was chatting up a salesman about the ATS they had in the showroom. After a while I realized that he never really knew much about the car or the platform. We got onto the topic of how the next camaro will probably be based on the same architecture, at that he decided to tell me that "there will be no Gen 6 Camaro, they will replace it with a smaller, more sporty 130 R derivitive under a new name"

After I laughed and told him someone has been feeding him a line of crap, i picked up my car and had an awesome drive home.

Back in August of 94 I went to the local Pontiac Dealership to buy a 94 Sunbird that I had my eye on. First new car purchase for me ever. My wife just got a new Grand Am and I was driving a 77 Bonneville with only 60K on it. I pulled up to the dealership after I got done doing about 10 hours of yardwork. I was dirty, smelly, and looked like I just crawled out of a swamp. Sat their for 15 minutes while every salesperson except one just looked at me and walked the other way. Finally, one came over and said can I help you sir? I said since you were the only one to acknowledge me, I am going to buy a car from you. I did and that was one fun car. 3.1 V6 with a 190HP motor along with the police suspension package. I did send off a letter to the GM of the dealership stating how all the salespeople profiled me and only one didn't.

When I was first looking for my Camaro, I went to cerritos chevy to check their inventory..

Saleswoman: "Hi my name is ***, are you looking for something in particular?"

Me: "Yes, I'm looking for a black,gray, or dark blue 2SS with RS package, do you have any in your inventory?"

Saleswoman: "Ok, well the 2SS does not come with the RS package, its only the 2SS, 1SS, or RS. Would like to check out some of the 2SS's?"

Me: "No, thank you for your time" and I left...

I would not buy a car let alone a Camaro from a dealer that does not know what options are available...
