2014 Camaro Taillights

Got to see one in person I really like the rear. When it first came out I did not like the rear but liked the front. I got to see on at fbodygathering this weekend and now I don't like the front but the rear really looks good.

perhaps the poll should add a qualifier - that you've had to see the car in person. (....just as you should meet a person prior to making judgements...)

We all know the hysteria on this particular site over the tailamps.......

Well - a funny thing happened.....
...I had a Crystal Red Tintcoat SS/RS at the 17th Annual Fbody gathering this weekend......

I expected to get all kinds of remarks - mostly negative - based on what's said on this site....

That didn't happen.

Rather - nearly everyone said - "I like them" or "I'm glad you updated the look" or any number of other positive remarks.

(...and before you say 'well yeah - they're not gonna bash the car in front of you' - let me assure you that I wasn't with the car for a good deal of the time - and yet those near the car report the same positive remarks...)

I also anticipate that a few people here are going to claim "Fanboy!" (as if using that remark is somehow a badge of honor....)

I've said it before and I'll say it again - every time we change something on a Camaro, some will hate it. Invariably 90 percent of those who hate the change will change their minds within a year..........

Exactly it's night and day I finally had the chance to see it at the 17th Annual Fbody Gathering in Atlanta this past weekend. I sat and just looked at it, it took about 5 minutes of look at the 2014 parked next to the 2013 and I was hooked. The hood vent looks way better in person the front and rear IMHO an improvement over the 10-13, looks much smoother and it still give it that aggressive look.

I never had a problem with the revised front end (except for the chrome strip above the grille on the RS package - but that can be fixed) so that still looked great in person. It'll definitely make the 10-13's look dated. I tried to warm up to the rear as new pictures showed up online, but just never could. However, after seeing it at the FBody Gathering, it looks pretty good. The best answer I can give to those who compare the rear looking like a 90s Prelude (which I thought as well), after seeing it in person you put it all in perspective with the muscular looking rear quarters...it's no Prelude! It's all Camaro with a more refined touch of class back there. Really, hold off the bashing until you see it for yourself.

I will say this though, it was a pure tease to have that Kinetic Blue Hot Wheels car next to it...I love that blue and am dissapointed it never made it to the rest of the line. I never got a chance to voice my displeasure about that to Scott personally this weekend, but I'm sure others made up for it!

Thanks everybody for the new pics. Now I'm really in a dilemma on whether I should add the RS package to my order or not. Both headlights look so great its making it really hard to choose. Hopefully a 1LE with the RS package and the front splitter shows up soon to help me decide.

Oh come on... are people really going to say that they like that huge hideous indent for the license plate.. looks like a freakin step bumper for a truck !!

That was a sharp red Zl1 convertible you were driving too !

I thought it looked real good in person, was it the same car that was debuted on the morning TV show ?

Can't wait to see one in BLACK (or a pretty blue...lol)

(still trying to hypnotize you into getting a sharp blue on the 14's...lol)

I've heard the 'Vette tail-lights were originally for the Camaro, but got bumped up for the new Sting-Ray...lol...They do have a policy of "model-mixing" and borrowing styling cues from each other...just part of the design game...At a Chevy dealer showroom a while back, there was a poster thing for the Malibu worded with the sporty look it had with the Camaro-like tail-lights...lol...

Not to worry though....I wouldn't read too much into the tail-lights on the '14s as far as repeating a downturn in styling with the Camaros...I'm sure there will be mods-a-plenty for those who may want to re-work them somehow....

I agree. They would look so much better if they just didn't wrap around to the side. Like if they were one piece still but fit in the area where the two taillights are on current camaros

As stated above by Fbodfather and 01pewter.... I was able to lay eyes directly on rearend of tgat machine and I'm here to say....

I wasn't a fan nor was I bashing it because pictures usually paint a different picture but the tail lights look very good. I spoke with Scott soon as I got to the car and I uttered... alot of people are gonna change their minds when they see it in person and he stated to me what I also heard from other mouths.... "they do look good"

I commend Scott and the rest of the Camaro team for continued updates to the Camaro.... so just wait till you see it in person, you'll probably change your opinion.

I'm getting there, I think i just need to see it in person. My biggest problem with looking at the pics is most of them are on a red car and I feel like the reds clash and it kinda ruins it. They don't look too bad on that white z28

That's Crystal Red Tintcoat. Red Hot will be more similar to Victory Red.

That's color looks realllllllly good, and I can only imagine how it will look on a 1LE. I have to do some side by side comparisons of the Crystal Red Tintcoat & Red Rock Metallic. ANY VOLENTEERS?!?!?!?
