I’ve seen that video on the Camaro website where an “engineer“ was talking about testing the exhaust note for the V8 and V6. I think when it came time to test the V6, they all went out for beers and forgot the whole thing.

I would like to see someone take the stock system, gut all the cats and possible the muffler delete and see what it sounds like and the power you gain from that. I'm guessing you would gain much more power by removing the restrictive cats then you would by removing a resonator or muffler that are straight threw.
Sounds great - For only a few hundred dollars

We have 10 sets in stock

No you are not. I am concerned about this. I want to wake up the sound of the LS3 for my benefit. If the general public gets to hear the sweet rumble, that's fine too but if I can't hear it, what good is it? I've gotten used to the Flowmaster drone on my '91 Mustang so anything less will sound whimpy to me I'm afraid. So with this being said, should I have my muffler shop remove the resonators replacing them with straight pipes when they install the aftermarket Axle back system?

I have a L99 Camaro, my muffler guy and I did some extensive testing on the L99 system a few days ago. We started off by removing the Massive resonator in the belly of the exhaust system. It was actually the only piece of exhaust that was gold right in the part where it flows over the crossbrace under the car. Just removing this resonator did absolutly nothing for the sound of the car it sounded exactly the same and registered the same on a DB reading inside a closed garage. So we experimented further by cutting the mufflers open, we removed all the fiberglass matting, also in the picture we cut open the other compartment and inside you see an extra pipe the directs the soundwaves back into the massive muffler. We capped off that extra pipe and got some extra sound out of it, but even with that capped it still is barely audible. With the mufflers completely cut off and the resonator replaced with a X-pipe the car is very loud, so we added in line bullet resonators in place of the factory mufflers and it gave the car and amazing sound for maybe 100 bucks.

Damion1213: Where in Jerzy are you.
This sounds exactly what my Exhaust shop said he did to a Camaro.

Bullit resonators. Very interesting.

Don't know if this was mentioned already but those worried about weight shouldn't. The additional weight couldn't be more stratigically located to aid traction. Andy thanks for taking the time to cut the cans open.

there are holes in the beginning/ed of the pipe so the air goes through those hales and the sound is stuck in the jerry can!!! when you accelerate harder you hear it louder because the air moves faster and most of the air stays in the pipe.

The jerry can has sound insulation in it which the cut-away did not show.

I know that many of you on this thread are wanting to hear the GMPP exhaust but just in case anyone is interested in the direction that I have decided to go I just ordered some 40 series Flowmasters and will repost a video when I get those installed, but for now this is what it sounds like without the Resonators or the rear catalytics. I kept the Front Catalytics due to the O2 sensors and have not had any problems. I would like to get some High Flow Catalytics, Does anyone have any advice on which company makes the best High Flow Catalytic????
