i live in nevada half the year and leather seats are almost impossible to deal with in hot sun like that imo. cloth seats can also be steamed cleaned so that they stay fresh and clean. that is a plus, and cloth does not crack like some leather does. overall, the 1SS with polished wheels and upgraded sound is the perfect package for me. the 2ss and rs pacakge together is a much less preferable build for me.

For me, the stuff that came standard with the 1SS was what I really wanted. I upgraded the speakers and added a sunroof.

go to dimensions and tell me what you see.

gauges don't weigh much, leather ain't adding no more then maybe 10lbs, subs and amps don't exist so where are you getting this from. The sub and amp maybe exist and then aren't big. And who says Halo lights are a part of a 2SS. you are trying to hard to make what you say true. Chevy specs either take it or ignore it. Choice is yours, but it doesn't mean you are right.
I wieghed my car at houston raceway park and with me in it it weighed 3840 and I weigh 180-190lbs and thats alot less than what GM said on their page and they also said the auto was gonna be faster than the M6 that was also a lie.

For me the difference in payments between a 1SS and 2SS would be about $20 a week more for the 2SS. Just enough to be annoying. Like Supermans said you can add the remote start(I hope I can get the dealer to throw that in as part of the deal) and the gauges separately. I do plan on doing this actually. The rest is just paying for something that you won't utilize. I be honest, when go to buy and they have a 2SS right there ready to go I would probably go for it.

1SS FTW.
Extra money for mods, more gadgets more problems down the road. The 4pack is cool but damn that storage space is awesome because there are really no other lil crevaces. also I cant buy something with a #2 when it can be a #1. Also it seems like 1SS owners are totally satisfied and 2SS owners have to rationalize why they spent the extra dough. LOL FIGHTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

I started this thread before making my decision. I ending up going with a 1SS and never regretted it.

I'm glad I bought a 1SS and saved the extra money.. I already have an aux input that I plug my ipod into and it works just fine. The 2SS already converts the digital to analog in one of its steps so the sound quality is the same either way. The 4 pack gauge is nice, however like others have said I like the storage space, it gives it an old school look. I like the cloth seats since in Miami it is hot all the time. I like having the smaller rear view mirror as well to get better vision when driving around. Overall the only thing that the 2SS came with that I was interested in was the Boston Acoustics sound, which is why I upgraded

I got the PDIM installed in my 1SS and steering wheel controls are next. The only thing left from the 2SS that I wanted is the 4 pack gauges.

Many members struggled with 2LT RS over the 1SS as well. For a daily driver for some people the V6 makes a lot of sense. But be honest with yourself get what you can afford.
