She Just Blew as I was grabing second gear. No mis shift. Launch control off.

Shifting at 4500 so wasn't into it that hard. ( Disclaimer...Does have a blower on it. I have been getting flamed for not mentioning that.)

but it should have held what I have given it so far.

I have been pretty easy on it waiting to get some more miles before I hammer it to hard.

Haven't done not a one burn out or Hard launch.

Comes a part tomorrow will find out then.

I will test her good when I get it back...if the tranny doesn't hold I will have to look for a plan B for a tranny !

should have beld up to that, how much are you putting to the ground these trannys cant be that weak.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.


Condition/Concern:


Customer may comment that the vehicle will not move in any gear. Technicians may find the transmission output shaft broken.


Recommendation/Instructions:


If a vehicle comes into the dealer with the concern described above please contact the General Motors Technical Assistance Center at 1-877-446-8227 (USA) or 1-800-263-7740 (Canada) and follow the prompts to Camaro Action Center and set a TAC case.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. Same problem everyone else is having. Even without blower. They are going to have trouble proving the blower was the cause when there are so many tailshafts broken out there.

What ever but I didn't break the other 89 that have already been posted on this forum.

Like I said If its my fault I will pay but doesn't look that way according to dealer.

By Law warranty must stand unless They can prove it was the mod that caused the problem and with so many out there busted That is going to be difficult to do....

Dude, not real sure about this. I am real sorry for your car, and I believe GM will fix it, but to try and Doh Hylton isn't the coolest thing to do. From Experience he has helped many many many people on this forum and has alot of knowledge about GM and their workings. I am sure he was not dogging you personally but just trying to relay things he has seen in the past. JMHO

I have such a hard time with this, you say you have been easy on it and haven't done one hard launch or burnout. To me I find the temptation to much not to not get on it after having a blower installed. I mean come on taking it up to 4500 rpms is pretty high and hard, given the car redlines at 6250. At 4500 this engine screams so how is 4500 considered not hard? It sounds like you aren't giving the whole story and just want to add fuel to the fire that the tranny sucks, because it broke and I wasn't driving hard.

Not trying To Dis anybody...I to Have enjoyed his posts but he keeps comming back at me...Nothing personal but there is a output shaft Problem.

It is well documented and I have been real upfront with dealer and am willing to except responsability if it is my issue.

I am just trying to keep everyone informed and it seems he wants to sling some mud at me for some reason.

I am not trying to or inintending on offending anyone and if I did I am very sorry. I just asked for a little slack until I get the facts.

Hyton I appoligize if that came off wrong...I am just seeing a lot of the same problems that are un related to the supercharger.

GM IS SENDING US A TRANS ASSEMBLY (W/UPDATED COMPONENTS) THAT WE SHOULD RECEIVE MON. OR TUES. I WILL TREAT THIS AS A WARRANTY REPAIR DUE TO THIS BEING A KNOWN DEFECT. WE WILL HAVE YOU BACK ON THE ROAD SOON!

That is great news, I knew GM would take care of it or felt they would anyway, and they did.

As for the other stuff water under the bridge. Just better to be safe than sorry. While I truly understand GM's issue with mods, I really believe if they have a problem that they know about that they will take care of it, but if the can prove abuse then your SOL. To me it's crazy to yhink you can floor any car and dump the clutch and think it will hold up over a perios of time.

For me I will not launch my car until they identify the range of transmissions that are affected, and still may not after that.

I have repeatedly said if its my deal I will pay. I have never blamed anyone and I have spoken very highly ( still do ) of the car and GM.

It wasn't a 45oo rpm launch It was a shift into second and IMHO That ain't nothing. As I said in all the other posts same problem with other non blown cars and if it can't take the launch ( Which I didn't do) why does competitive mode Launch control allow you to launch at 4300 or what ever it is( Don't Know cause I haven't tried it) if it can't take it.

So Mine has a blower all the others didn't Doesn't someone see the light on this deal thet have an output shaft problem ( Tremec)...They have admitted it even by there own bulletins.


Yes, I agree I got a blower on there and if Second gear would have blown or syncro's or rear end...Hey My bad, I write the check. That is not the case it was the output shaft that now over 89 posts on this very forum have had the same issue.

This is a tremec problem not a GM problem. GM runs in my veins.

I love my car, I recomend it to anybody who asks and that hasn't changed.

Just one of those things...If this one doesn't hold up( Tranny) I will find one that does... simple as that. I guarantee you the car hasn't even begun to see the flogging it will see...Thats the bottom line.

I bought it to play with, its not a daily driver so, I will Drive like all my other cars HARD but I honnestly have been pretty easy on it compared to what I could have been... I wanted to get things seated a little better before I went Crazy.

Anyway...Flame me all you want.

I stand by my dealer...I stand BY GM and always will.

My bad I pay...no problem with that at all.

I personally believe...But what do I Know...That there is just a simple heat treat problem with the output shaft.

Stuff happens...I am not blaming GM on this one at all. New car, this stuff just happens.

If I was going to try and blame someone I wouldn't beat around the bush I would just say it " They Suck" No where have I ever complained.

Just trying to help others make informed decisions based on my experience.

Why would I let someone else spend 8 grand on a blower if the tranny won't hold, that is the reason for the post. Not to complain. I am not a whinner or a cry baby just trying to help others as they have helped me by posting their experiences on this forum.

Hopefully I have done just that....I have no reason to not tell the truth.

I also have no reason to post any of this If I wasn't trying to help inform others. Why would I subject myself to all this scrutiny otherwise.

I don't need all this crap...I can get it from my wife without all the typing.
