Which is the right part number? Amazon shows different types for 11504 and 10504, one is a screw in and the other has the triangles.

I just bought the CST Locking Fuel Cap from Autozone for $12.99. Part#5805.
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...artNumber=true They had another that was slip-on with triangles on the shaft but it didn't fit. Drove a lot today and no check engine lights. |

The autozone cap does feel a bit flimsy, but for what it does, not gonna regret it. In comparison to the oem though, I would say same level of cheapness.
I think that if you're on the fence about any locking gas cap, you may as well just buy it and save yourself the pondering. If you don't like it, you can just put the original back on. Found out that you can even remove the oem with the attached plastic cord by getting a flathead and popping off the push pin holding it on. |

Yeah that's true, but I'm not sure if I should buy the Stant or the CST. Cool, thanks for the info, I'll be doing that when I decide to switch caps. |

Since no one is really responding, it makes me feel like not many people have locking gas caps. Is this true?

Alright guys. I got a check engine light and took it to the dealer this morning. He calls back and said that they ran a diagnostic only to find out that the aftermarket CST locking gas cap was the culprit. Loose thread.
$109 since it's not covered by warranty! Woulda just been better off getting the DefenderWorx. ![]() Lesson learned. UPDATE: Service Manager was cool enough to let me slide on this one. Think I'll invest in the DefenderWorx now! Last edited by edgehead2000; 03-26-2011 at 02:17 PM. |
