I went to the track again and ran 12.5 @ 111 mph (again) (12.4 corrected). I ran within .03 of my previous time in better conditions.
It was 66 degrees, 60 % humidity (DA 855+ ft) with sprinkles/light rain mixed with overcast skies. So the conditions weren't the best, but it was OK (a lot better than summer conditions). There was a G8 GT running low 13s with a few mods + tune. There was also a Saleen Mustang (Supercharged) running 12.7s (people at that track didn't seem impressed seeing that it was supercharged and only running 12.7s). But I got my axx handed to me by a Supercharged C6 Vette. I watched him later run 11.0 @ 134 mph. I wasn't all that happy about having to race him.

I'm not sure. A local guy that also has an L99 A6 is getting a ported intake and throttle body along with his LT and intake. I'm waiting to see the results of the intake and throttle body. That might be my next mod if the results are worth the expense ($400.00 exchange for the intake and TB).
I'm also considering a converter (2800 or so stall). But I'm a little gun shy of the converter at the moment. I've had higher stalls on some of my previous cars and I've had good luck and bad luck. For whatever reasons, sometimes a higher stall can cause tranny issues in the near future. |

Hard to get off the line without spinning. This run was with "launch Control"

I actually get my best launches by leaving off idle with the traction control (and stabilatrack) on. I do "flash" the converter... basically left foot on the brake, right foot on gas... from idle, basically let off brake and step on gas at the same time... I'm pulling a 2.0 60' with the stock RS tires...

You can if you want. But I would suggest just turning off the Traction Control. I've always run good times at the track by just turn off the TC. The Stability Track could help prevent the car from getting out of control. |

I use to have a charger SRT8 with a stage one cam and heads, no SC and I use to run low 12s on it. The setup I ran at the track was 17" rims with hoosiers 275/40R17 DRs. The wheels are replicas from a 2003 Mustang Cobra. My Charger SRT8 was .6 seconds faster than with the stock tires and rims and .3 seconds faster than with the 18" rims and the Nitto 305/35R18 tires. I now have a 2010 Camaro SS M6 with nothing but a tune running low 13s. I'm sure I can get my car close to mid 12s as soon as I find a similar tire setup for my camaro. |
