yes it is, i haven't messed with anything on the car other than the mufflers. Does it look too high or low?

I'd LOVE to put coilovers on the car, but I don't have that kind of cash right now.

I was wanting to do this mod as well. If its prolly not legal in any state, why can SLP sell the Loudmouth which is just a muffler delete? Because I really want to do this mod, but on the other hand I can't get in any trouble with the law in the next year LOL

Probably just because the cops would still see the actual mufflers under the car. I say just go for it It's not so loud that the cops would pull you over for it. When I see a cop, I just make sure I'm not flooring it or anything stupid like that.

Oh no, I wouldn't be doing anything like that, but cops around where I live are, well, I'm sure you could figure it out. I live in a smaller town, and they think they are God pretty much. lol. Just would hate to get busted for no mufflers. but if its not abnormally loud I don't guess there is much they could do about it?

well they can still write you up for not having mufflers. It really is only loud when you want it to be. If you accelerate at just a relatively moderate rate and shift around 3500, it's not loud at all. I'm not in your shoes though, I don't know exactly how anal these cops are, so it's just your call really. Worst case scenario is you have to cut the pipes out and weld the mufflers back on.

True true. They are pretty anal though. but I'll most likely do this when my car arrives. Btw this is by far the best comparison of the two.

EXHAUST SOUNDS

Mike Bing I also have a RS 2 SS and I'm very impressed with the sound of yours. Let me understand exactly what you removed, you just removed the muffler from the axle back is that correct and then installed a pipe with your exhaust tips on it is that right?

This is what my City Ordinance says...

(d) Adequate mufflers or sound dissipative devices. Every motor vehicle shall be equipped, maintained, and operated so as to prevent excessive or unusual noise. Every motor vehicle at all times shall be equipped with a muffler or other effective noise suppression system and no person shall use a muffler cutout, bypass, or similar device.

...don't care, I'm doing it anyway. It's all about where you do it and when. Know your surroundings and you'll be fine. Ain't no way idle noise will get me!!

Straight Pipes

I need too look up my City Ordinance to see what it says, but I would guess that it would say something very similar to this. Thanks for posting.

I wasn't particularly pleased with some of the videos of this, so I decided to make my own. It's done using a simple handheld camera and iMovie off my Mac, but I think it gets the job done. So check it out. Also, I have pictures at the bottom of the page... definitely worth checking out
