I bought my car last year - current model year - a 2SS with every single option, NPP, infernal orange interior, hood stripes, NPP and 5,300 miles on it for $31,000 exactly to the penny. 1LE's with those same options were selling in the $39,000-$40,000 range. 2SS's are all over the place. 1LE's are not, and you cannot get nearly the kind of deal on them than you can a 2SS. They hold their value much better due to limited availability. Funny thing was, the dealer I bought my 2SS for was selling a higher mileage 1LE that wasn't in as good shape as my 2SS for 40K. Nuts.

You can't find a 2013 2SS 1LE in the New Jersey/Southeastern PA region with 5,3000 miles for $34,500 now let alone 6 months ago when the model year was current unless there is something seriously wrong with it. Look into the high 30's/low 40's and you'll find something. I would much rather have a 2SS 1LE any day of the week over a standard 2SS - it is a better car - but what is an affordable option at sticker price is very overpriced in the used car market.
Thanks for the explanation. I had no idea of the used car market.

The fact of the matter is, for example, will take my car...
Quarter mile = My car
0-60 = My car
Around any track = My car (no real hard data but come on, obviously)

Those are the things I care about not Prestige by saying I have A ZL1.

You say suspension, actually the ZL1 suspension is not better then the 1Le stock for stock. The only thing that mag ride is good for is to give you that caddy feel when your driving and I purchased a muscle car not a Cadillac. Believe me when I tell ya, The 1Le is a track KING and is way better balanced. Thee ONLY thing getting that ZL1 around any track faster then a stock 1LE is it's added power. That goes for it's quarter mile times against a stock 1le as well. (which really are not far off of either anyways)...

Fast forward to my car, Better blower, even better suspension then the stock 1LE...AND ALL THE AMENTIES INSIDE THE CABIN (That's right FrontRunner, FULLY LOADED)( except sunroof, which I could care less about ). So I ask you how could my car not be better? Simple answer... It is in every way except maybe not having the ZL1 rockers ( I did add those tough )

Funny story before I modded my car so heavily I was tossing the idea around of trading in for the ZL1 and I actually found one at a decent price and very low mileage. It was a 2013 with 3k miles on it and it had the more expensive optioned 5 spoke wheels on it ( I couldn't believe those were more money then the black Zl1 wheels by the way),,and I showed my wife the car and she was like why would you down grade to that car, I laughed and said actually it's suppose to be and upgrade, she said ewww gross, your car is ten times better looking.

Now the ZL1 guys will chime in a million times stating why there cars are so much better with some bull shit like are mag ride or our LSA motor and if that makes them feel better then so be it, but at thee end of the day I bet you not one Stock ZL1 wants to race for Pink slips.

Now the 6th gen ZL1 as long as they don't make it Fugly like the new mustang will be the one to have. That may be a different story......

Again not wanting to start yet another debate, because frankly I have better things to do, so ZL1 guys go nuts....
I'm ready....lets race!!

Like I said, in the used car market, it's a ~$7,000 premium. You can get a 1SS with <10,000 miles for $27K if you're willing to travel, too. Near me they were selling a 1SS stripper for $25,000 with 5,000 miles on the odometer. It was a 2014. Pretty slamming deal if you don't want the options.
Like I said, if you found used 1LEs for $40k, its worth it to travel and get a new one, $40k is in the ball park for a 2SS 1LE....

Just take my approach!

If you have the money to purchase a ZL1, but your not at all satisfied with the power/performance of $65K car with 580 crank hp - buy the 1LE for $45K and dump another $25K into the car like I did = 800 rear wheel hp / high 10sec quarter mile fire breathing machine!!!!

To prove it, can all here (guys and gals) on Camaro5 vote on who is the best looking of these girls? If we can all agree on just one I would be SHOCKED!

Odds are you will like different things about each one for different reasons, and thats okay. The thing is, Both cars are awesome! And I would be happy with both.

But I am partial to the blonde....I mean the 1LE

I would just take all three at the same time
