oh man... i have them all the time... all i say is go grab that timing belt, chain longer than god knows what and use it has a belt... imo thats the dumbest design ever... i dont get over head cams on v8's... why? i guess now a days they are better. but i just dont like the idea of a huge chain driven all these major parts.. smaller chain less slack etc.. simple... and ONE CAM!!!!! lol... now on the v6's ohc... hmm i guess its ok..

Ive had many many arguments over on MC about the Mustang/Camaro debate and probably made some enemies because of it because of my defense for Ford and thats mainly because my father and grandfather drove Ford's so thats what I grew up with be it good or bad so I see it as a family thing more so than a actual defense of Ford.

I started my Ford ownership in a Mustang II, had plenty of fox bodies and whats called S197 body style and ive had Camaro's mixed in with the Ford's and ive had some duds in Mustang's and Camaro's.

My biggest thing has been the GM bailout but at the end of the day that bailout gets a argument NO WHERE, just pisses everyone off. Ford, GM and Chrysler have seen bad times but they are still here.

I sold my last Camaro SS for a 2013 Ford Mustang 5.0, loved the motor but not how the Mustang drove or how it was built but I also had issues with my 2012 Camaro SS but I am back in a 2014 Camaro SS mainly because I like it better and I like the motor better. The new 5.0's have problems with dropping the #7 & #8 cylinders however I didnt but I did have problems with rust on the inside of the front fender and a leaking rear end which I wouldnt let a Ford service department touch mainly because they would make it worse IMO. But in defense of Ford I had bought a new 1997 Camaro SS and 2,500 miles later it developed a rear main leak, GM sent me a certificate so I could trade it and I bought another one and it did the same thing at 7,500 miles.

So all of this arguing Ford & Chevy wont get us no where, I think they BOTH make a great muscle car and we should be glad that they are still around, including dodge because someday soon there wont be no more V8's, we will be riding around in V6's and ecoboost 4 cylinders and to be honest that will suck...

No offense to V6 owners but I grew up on V8's and when I think of Ford, Chevy or Mopar Muscle, its a V8....

We have always talked smack on the interwebbythingy aimed at other brands.

But, when you get to track, the Ford guys are good friends.

You want pricks? Corvette people. Lordy, how can you be so damn elitist with a mid priced sportscar.

Yes, we have a couple Vettes, and have attended dozens of Vette events. That's how I know. Viper guys are even worse.

I've owned three Mopar vehicles before Fiat bought them. Based on the name, "Fix It Again Tony", or Fiat for short, I'll never own another.

FWIW, bad tuners were responsible for the #8, now its a distant memory. Cant go wrong with either brand however

Fiat owning Chrysler may be a good thing. Chrysler products quallity was pretty damn low on the totem pole before Fiat got hold of them and they are making improvements. And honestly it doesnt matter who owns them as long as the brand is still around.

I agree one is as good as another. As much as I still love Ford I realize that the Chevy small block is the most popular engine out there.

Also the fact the the other auto makers, with the exception of ford obviously, have repaid what was agreed upon. Maybe they're angry with the look of the new mustang I would be.
Ford guys can talk?

The only difference is that Ford took a chance and decided not to take the money that GM and Chrysler did. But they still had to make major adjustments. And even on a larger scale, banks, financial institutions, and a whole lot of other businesses and companies were hurting just as much if not more than GM and Chrysler. I don't see Ford guys switching banks etc and bragging about their bank not having a hard time. So Ford guys bragging is kinda like a homeless guy with $50 in his pocket bragging to another homeless guy who only has $15 in his pocket. So yea, Ford was hurting in a bad way.
Ford definitely had some issues, as did all the other american car companies. In the end though, fords financial problems didn't cost the american taxpayers 11.2 billion dollars. That's the issue everyone complains about. GM will never be able to shake the Goverment Motors name.

The corvette people aren't too great either, challengers are not so good but mustang drivers definitely take the cake for being the snobbiest and most disrespectful people I've come across.

I have a couple friends that own mustangs and they fit that bill perfectly… Camaro owners have always been generous and respectful people, even before i owned one i was able to stop and talk with them for however long without them getting agitated ect….

I will have to disagree 100% GM Fanbois are the worst. If your not driving a GM Your not worth the time to talk to let alone show respect. People that drive GMs don't notice it because they are not on the reseaving end of constant ridicule. Being an owner of both Ford and GM, I can honestly say its rediculous what comes from the GM crowd. Not saying Ford guys don't have Dbags because there are some in every croud. Don't get me started on Vette guys lol
