Unless my powers of perception allude me, it says rick@livernois at the top? At 4600, that would mean you guys are missing something weight wise if Livernois cut more weight and went the same time, no? Good luck, guys. With a little R&D, you should go solid 9.5xx
I doubt 9.5 on this car on a stock converter,it still has a stock converter that was not meant for 60 ft times.

Here is the car I built - http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=321725

But I do believe the ZL1'is the best car currently available in it's class.

Somehow the OPs question has gotten really sidetracked and I'm do apologize to the OP for my part in that.

OP, have you tried the fuse pull yet?
Where are you currently in you plans to get you ZL sorted out?
No worries, you'll notice I'm not easily riled up. I genuinely love fast cars, regardless of the emblem on the hood/bumper/fender/roof/ whatever. I'd happily invite you down to MIR in Maryland to see how you do against my little GTR, I'd bet a friendly beer or 3 on it

I, more than anything, apologize for the thread jacking of this topic. While I really don't think a fuse pull is going to do Anything of notice, I really hope it gets straighten out. Nothing worse than a new car that under performs...

OP, I'd agree with this 10000%. ADM builds some very fast cars and are very highly recommended. Lots of very competent builders here

Stock converter? Livernois already bailed on that...

WHAT THE HAPPENED

This red ZL1 was bought with 180 miles on it for a lot less than a stock GTR cost and it ran pretty good against a Heavily modded Gtr......Good race and pretty even for money spent.Right!

Define "heavily modded". Looked like a full bolt on E85 car to me. That's pumps, injectors, intakes, down pipes and exhaust. While that varies WILDLY, I've done most of it for a lot less than you'd think. Tuner= 550, mid pipe= $350, 3 inch intakes= $280, ID1000 = $500, pumps $285. Total for ~585awhp =$2000. Throw in $700 for 90mm down pipes to round out the "full bolt on".

What were the mods on the ZL1 and price?

Heavily modded to me is in the alpha 9 range. In which case. That ZL1 would have barely been able to make out GTR tail lights

You seem to be forgetting the initial investment.

It's all relative. My initial investment might surprise you. It's all about patience.

Edit: I'd bet I spent less on my poverty 09 GTR with ~4K miles than you did on your 13 ZL1.

Apples and oranges.. you will always have us beat in a stockish platform.. There is no question and it makes no sense to even discuss it..

It's the AWD. GM would profit so much from a real performance based AWD platform.

My idea of fast car is much different than BPG's. I could care less about 1/4 runs or the Hellcat etc. I spent the money because it meets my needs, and is one hell of a fun car, and for most it is not slow by any means. The GTR is a bad car, but not for me. I have to shift via manual, and prefer more of a raw old school type of handling, thus no awd. In any case I used to have small bore Italian cars that were loads of fun, but were not considered fast, I feel no need to go to their forums and bag on thier cars. I might post something helpful from my 20+ years of ownership. I just don't get the direction this thread has gone.

Now I've gotta know what you spent for your "initial investment"

thanks for making the whole thread pretty interesting to read through, shame most people don't appreciate a good discussion with people on both sides of the argument.

If I remember correctly. You had 615 or so RWHP and you had trouble breaking the low 12's with your Z. I read some post were you were complaining. I ran 12.2 in a stock M6. I find it hard to believe that it was the vehicles fault that you could not row the transmission through the gears well enough to achieve the desired ETs you wanted.
WITH 615 RWHP.

I've beat my buddies slightly modded 2013 CTS V and a handful of other cars that had better power/weight ratios then myself.

Furthermore the GTR is rad but its also very much so not a "drivers" car. My buddy has a track edition and my girlfriend was able to achieve a similarly fast 0-60 as he and I. But I guess some people like the relatively low skill level that the GTR requires to get going.

My 2 cents is that A) you are lonely because you are not involved in a GTR forum B) You found a car YOU like because it goes when you push the pedal or C) You want to spread the gospel that if you spent 110 K you can go faster.

piss off unless you have something CONSTRUCTIVE TO SAY.
