I'm not really questioning the hp numbers. I don't really care about dyno #s anyway. I do find it interesting he can run that much boost on 91 and have the fuel pump to support it. I'm sure the tuner will post soon to enlighten us.
If I ever get good at racing, I sure hope to have low 10 second time slips! I don't think it will be this year, due to not having as much experience as some. Like I said, I have not been down to the track since 2009.

Mike doesn't got on the internet much because he's too busy building bad ass cars that fly down the track.

Seriously, for those who don't know, Mike at Rapid was putting together bad ass builds since the LS motors came out. He just doesn't pimp himself like other shops. Back in 05 he spec'd a cam for my old setup and it went high 10's on motor and drove great around town. Mine wasn't the only one either.

I appreciate you posting man. I talked to Mike today and asked him to post. Basically, you can never win in threads like these. He is a very very very low key guy. He has been and still is a pioneer with the LS engine.

I don't understand why people are making his numbers a issue. I'm at 15 lbs of boost on pump gas with similar mods. Just saying.

Hi Smittty, when I ordered my catch can from Dave at MM Solutions, he asked, "so you want a set-up like Smittty?" I told Dave, yeah sounds good. I think it is the nicest catch can on the market.

I think 50% of it is how high his numbers are and the other 50% is how he managed to do that with the stock fuel pump. Very impressive.

I was going to have Richard @ West Coast Cylinder Heads port my stock heads but Jeremy Formato steered me away from going with a CNC ported head. His heads are hand ported and specified for FI applications. Since the LSA is a low compression motor, he talked me into milling the heads to bump up the compression. Something I was a little skeptical of having done at first.

As far as the stock fuel pump. I was positive we were going to need the BAP. Mike, didn't think I would and he was right. He wanted to dyno the car first and if it needed then he was going to install it. He will install anything you want, but if he thinks you do not need it, he will let you know.

Hi Dutchman, Yea Dave told me has had a few people ask for the same setup I have. I think you will be happy with it. I really like my setup now and it works so much better than my old setup. Posts up some pics when it's done.

I kept my new build in the same range. Some tried to convince me to run closer to 10 but I personally I don't think it's a good idea at higher boost levels unless you are going to a 6 bolt block and heads.

Mike didn't want me to mill the heads at all! This was the first ZL1 he worked on. He asked me how much power am I looking to get out of the car. I said, well guys are getting around 720rwhp from similar builds. He told me when I picked up the car that he thought I was crazy when I told him the numbers I was hoping for. He was just as surprised. He did a couple 5th Gens with blowers on them but never a ZL1 or a CTS-V for that matter.

Yeah 10 is pretty much. Now on my 02 SS build that is in my sig, I was running 12.0:1, granted that was N/A.

Will do Smittty. I want to clean the car up in the next week or two, so I will snap a couple of pictures then.
