I would like to hear of anyone that experienced these BFGs on the track during Summer's high heat.

It would be silly to expect any all-season tire to perform well at the track on a hot day. I have been told they are great rain tires on the track though.

Thanks Retro69. I was thinking of them as an option for year round use. But now I see that probably MPSS tires might do a better job.

Why are the MPSS better and how is their price?

MPSS will likely be better on the the track than the BFGS on hot days but they are way more expensive. My personal experience with the MPSS is the outer edges are easily over driven. I ended up with separation and chunking with only a couple of short track events. They are a great street tire with decent wet weather handling.

Thumbs up

I did track hard the MPSS on a 412 HP "11 Mustang GT with modified suspension and Brembo brakes, even was able to almost match a BMW M3 V8 (clocked just one second behind), and the Michelin Pilot Super Sport really handled superb with very minimal wear compared to my prior stock Pirelli P Zero's junk tires. Those MPSS gave me about double the life of the tires compared to the Pirellis. Very little wear and great performance.

Per tire rack, they compare favorably with the Pilot Sport AS/3s. Superior, in most cases, and about half the price. They'll be going on my 1LE.

I think I liked their testing results that were done by Tire Rack, #1 in all season performance tires.
I think these BF would be my next tires.

Am I correct in saying that a full set of these tires including the 305 rears cannot be purchased because the 305's are on back order, with no definitive date for delivery?

Thanks,
Ken

I bought a full set in November. I suppose it's possible the 305s are back ordered again, but I haven't checked.

I tried to buy 2 on Monday... nobody has them. I ended up getting 285's, which I was happy to get since they are hard to find right now.

Cant say for the others, but I can tell you my own personal experience. Although CA is usually mild when it comes to cold weather and rain, the factory Goodyear tires all but SUK in bad weather. Hot, Summer, they work great, but cold/wet they are all but dangerous to drive around. I put a set of the BFG Comp II's on my ZL1 this winter and they are NIGHT and DAY above the Goodyears.... I have not taken them out on a hot summer day yet, so I cant testify to their performance as to how they will handle lap after lap of heat, like a "summer only" tire can, but I can say for almost all but the most extreme driving, I will be keeping my BFG's on my car.... and at less than HALF the cost of most other tires, they simply cannot be beat. JMHO

I just had my front F1's replaced w/ the BFG's ( now all around w/ BFG's )... just WOW!!!

I really like the way they track on the street... handle great.

Will be ready for some nice summer driving in the twisties... hope they handle good up there.

Just ordered a set last week. Tire rack says they have a bunch of fronts but the rears are back ordered for 2.5 months. If anyone wants a set, get those orders in asap.
