I have thoughts on replicating it but will need to get a CAI kit in hand.

The other alternative is to just 90* it off the throttle body and replace the tubing and MAF housing with new parts. I always have 3.5" housings on the shelf to upgrade other LFX platforms, the rest would be easy.

Just measured mine, and the elbow reads a 3.5" (3.54) ID on the filter side, and 3" (3.05) ID on the TB side. The angle, though I don't have an appropriate angle finder, is a slightly strange compound angle that seems ultimately more like 65 or 70 degrees, as opposed to the estimate of 110 degrees. All of these measurements were with the coupler at rest.

Secondarily, in my communications with CAI Inc, they've recommended SiliconeHoses.com for a replacement elbow, stating that there isn't enough demand for them to produce one on par with their current one. To which I responded that of course there hasn't been demand, the product was just released.

Must be squeezing the filter down onto the alm tube with the clamp. What's your tube measure?

The v8 tube I have here measures 4" OD one way and 3.875" the other way. The filter I have measures 3.9375" ID.

The supplied tube could still be easily modified to fit

Maybe we're not on the same page, or I'm just confused. I'm measuring the V6 CAI Inc Intake.

I measured my tube and it's 3.5" OD on both ends. Going into my filter box is an adapter that kind of 'steps up' from the tube to the filter itself.

Maybe we need some pictures of the measured tubes and adapters.

Thanks for the measurement, it sounds right.

Do you have anything for the LLT?

I'm testing and tuning it right now. It has a different rest position than the stock TB (5% vs 27%). I had to turn 2 codes off and the airflow table has to be modified or the engine will go WOT at startup.

It's been a while since I had my hands on a v6 CAI intake. I don't recall an adapter that steps up from the tube to the filter... But upon looking at their website, it seems I was wrong about v6 and v8 units using the same filter. I could have sworn they both used the CF-8400, but maybe not... Or maybe something changed along the line... Says the v6 uses the CF-8350 filter. I'm guessing 8 is the length, and 350/400 is the flange inlet diameter.

I'm working on a deal to hopefully pick up a v6 CAI system again...

For the LLT
What about the smaller one he recommended to you first? Tuning required still? Can't remember the size difference off the top of my head.

It was a 76mm and if the airflow is nearly the same with the same rest position, it will be fine without tuning. Might be on the touchy side for throttle response though.

The one I have looks cooler though.

I have the K&N typhoon CAI and the O.D. or the I.D. Of tube is 3.25". So I would need a 3.25" to 3.5" 90degree silicone tube to make the 80mm tb work. Has anyone got a 3" silicone to expanded to 3.25" or just made a 3.5"to 3.5" 90 work by putting a sleeve on CAI side.
I've got my suspension set up to handle anything I can get out of this little v6. Now it's time to make this V6 breath more.

Thanks for the measurement Redhotis1.

I have enough info to put up specific couplers up on a dropdown menu for K&N, Injen, and Rotofab. The CAI is still an uncertain but if someone can provide some measurements of the lengths of the tubes used it would help tremendously

I bought a CAI for this purpose. I'll send measurements. Maybe let you borrow the tube(s) if you need them. Or buy the whole thing cheap after I get the info I need.
