"Too heavy for the track is a silly statement." That one was silly. A 35LB tire on all 4 corners of the Z28 on track and that would result in slower lap times. Here you clearly mentioned this tire and spec 325 for track condidions WOW.

I have to agree. We scuff off at standard wheels because they're 32 lbs while Z/28 wheels are 26.2 lbs. You're giving up all that weight loss by replacing a 28 lbs tire with a 35 lbs one, and it's also in a worse location (a rotating mass with an even larger radius).

V720 is also incredibly heavy; I wish they could manufacture it lighter : )

Comprehension goes a long way.

You are failing to understand you are provoking an argumenent that I am not on topic with. As this thread is more about bridging the gap between a track oriented car which many owners are trying to make safer for street use. They still want to have an excellent experience with the vehicle when they switch tires and your continuous talk of weight and lap times is unecessary. If an owner wants to invest in "multi use" tire then I will stand by an RE11 all day for excellent street manners in dry and wet with warmer temps which will still give them a very fun experience in performance driving events. Never have I said anything about using a tire for times. The car is equipped, off the floor, with capable tires. Ill make certain to say anyone trying to be awesome, drive with Trofeos at proper psi and decent temps on the track.

This thread breaks down many ways. If an owner can do 2 sets or more of tires, trying balance performance is not such a specific ordeal. Maybe the goal is to not have multiple sets and someone wants insight and experience with their tire choice. Again, this thread can do that without

100% agree! Can't wait to get my RE11As installed. The Trofeo is a great track tire and usable on the street, but I wish I had replaced them Day 1. I am confident that the RE11As will be better for daily driving, which is what I do with my car. If I were going to be driving the car to the edge of its limits then I'd stick w/ Trofeos.

If you only drive your car at the street, absolutely, a few pounds here and there doesn't matter much : )

That said, for your case, I'd probably pick a ZL1 instead. Fine, fine; have it your way.

You paying for my car? If not, I'll drive what I like thank you very much. Had a ZL1. Too soft. End of story.

They are super soft! When I had my 1LE my father had a ZL1 and it was a night and day difference. The 1LE was much more sure footed, a lot less bounce, and way less body roll.

Granted his ZL1 is a convertible thus making it even softer.

Vs.

Too bad they don't make these in a 325/30/19. Otherwise pretty close in size to the Trofeo. Going off the dimensions it looks to be a more square tire?

Would be a good alternative to the PSS without having to wait until the end of September!

But I didn't ask for your opinion. Look, you did a major overhaul on your 1LE and have some serious track time. You've probably forgotten more than I'll ever know about cars. If I ever want to do some serious mods I'd appreciate your insight, but this was just an easy going discussion about tires. Let's just chill, relax and enjoy our respective beasts. Cool?
