Did you own a camaro before this one? What's your history?

I'm from the ZL1 side, but I saw this topic and had to reply. I previously had a 2003 Mach 1...not bad especially since we got in for $25K otd. However, it does not even come close to my 15 ZL1 !!! :-)

I liked everything about that gen (your 2002) except how the mirrors didn't seem to flow with the body lines. Looks like and afterthought, and it always bugged me. Thanks for the pic JG. She looked clean! I'm sure you miss her a tad.

I go back a ways, I wish I had kept pictures. My first was a 1974 Firebird Esprit, 2nd was a "79 Firebird Formula, 3rd was a 1980 Camaro v6 Plain Jane, put 127k on that car till the tranny went out. 4th was a 1991 Camaro V6RS in Teal with t-tops, nice car, got hailed on so I traded it in on a '97Z28 w/ performance pkg. Put 121K on that one and traded it in on a 2013 2LT/RS, kept it a year and decided I wanted the SS so I traded it in on a new 2015 2SS/RS last January. Only have 1300 miles on this one. She's a beauty and very fast. I will be 60 in August, If I'm still healthy, able, willing and can afford it I may look at a ZL1 in 2018 or 2019. If I complete that transaction It will probably carry me to the nursing home or the grave. You could say I have been a loyal Camaro/Firebird guy. Over 40 years I think I've only been without a Camaro or Firebird for about 5 years when I was broke. Also keep in mind I live in Minnesota so that maybe makes it a little more note worthy. With the snow etc.

I've had several F-Bodies, but the 2011 is my first Chevy.

My second car was a 1986 Trans Am. Third was a 1991 GTA. Fourth was a 1999 Trans Am. Sixth was a 1988 GTA.

A DeLorean, an '04 GTO, and a Frontier later, and now I have the 2011 SS.

My first Camaro was a 1994 Z28 with 6-speed. Black with black/red cloth interior.


I did a few mods to it, including:

RK Sport ceramic-coated shorty headers 1.75" primaries
Random Technologies cat-back exhaust 3" with off-road pipe.
4.10 gears with T/A girdle
Hurst Billet Plus Short throw, Momo leather knob.
MSD 6AL
NX kit 125-shot
Corvette 17x9, 17x11 5-spokes
AIR pump delete
some other crap i don't remember.

First car was an 02 firebird trans am manual. Kind of a gift from my father, they covered insurance after all.

Second was an 06 Chevy Malibu LT V6. Getting out on my own needed something more efficient. A great solid car.

Third was a 2015 Malibu LS. Crashed my 06, luckily survived, total loss. Was the cheapest new car I could find. Actually got a job at the dealership just by sparking a convo with the GM about Classic cars.

4 months later my boss offered me a black 2LS camaro at a dumb price. now I have my 2015 Camaro V6. that I will have lots of fun tinkering with over the next few years.

My first Camaro was a 1969 Z-28 with a 302/4Speed. Great car. Wish I still had it. My second was a 1989 350/AT and since last Friday, I have rejoined the Camaro world with a 2013 RS Rally Yellow Convertible LFX/AT. It's amazing that my LFX is rated with more HP than either of the other V8s but sadly it does not have the sound of those V8s.
