The MPG formula was revamped this year by the feds, it's meant to give a more realistic estimate given todays driving conditions and driving habits. The original formula was from the 60's. I'' get to the point here, the average MPG just got reduced by 4mpg on most cars. Before this same car would have been rated at 27 or more. Please remember esentialy you may be able to achieve better MPG than the estimates if you follow good driving habits. Before the best you could ever achive was the estimate. Also comparing apples to apples the last gen v8 roughly had 300hp and had MPG of 27 highway. Thats almost exacly what the v6 gets with the posibility of getting better mpg due to the new low ball estimates. Im not happy at all the cars are this heavy but at least we have the Camaro back. Look for major changes in the dimensions, engines, and weight in the comming few years due to the new laws just passed. Quote:
Those were some of the most sought after 1st gens and had badges indicating they were both. I don't beleive the package would be as expensive for the SS buyers as a LT buyer. Thats how it usualy works. |

As far as bundling of options, in econ class one day we looked at alternative pricing strategies, using Disneyland as an example of single payment unlimited use pricing and GM as an example of bundle pricing. Packaging options is much more profitable for GM, but its hard for me to explain it here without diagrams (nerd). But yeah, that's the world of business.
The red SS badge sounds kinda cool, but I just might have to fashion my own RS/SS badge. No biggie. Oh and I was upset about the blue offerings too (since blue was my second choice after green, which was denied to me). I thought imperial blue looked really purple in the pics on the Camaro site, but looking at Chevy's cobalt page, it looks like a normal medium blue. So I think I'll go with that, with either white or gray stripes. Gray was my second choice, but I want stripes and the only stripes that would work would be black, and those aren't offered. Made my decision easy I guess.

How is it that I'm the only one laughing himself silly over the phrase "power bulge"? That Mustang beat my Monte again, but I'll show him once I install the power bulge!
Looks like an LT/RS for me. The blue ambient lighting sounds fantastic! If only they would have put the key in the dash.

BTW on the fuel mileage, he just got 32 mpg going to Tennesee from Illinois. That was from full to empty on the hwy, he said he ran about 72mph. I think the fuel stuff will be better. I got 20 in town on the LS1 and I ran it pretty good. |

I really don't know how people can complain about the gas mileage for what they're getting. The Camaro SS weighs only a couple hundred pounds less than the Challenger SRT-8, has similar performance numbers, and yet gets 5mpg better in both city and highway mileage.
Besides, just add headers and custom pipes (like God intended, I may add), and you'll see some fuel benefits. |

I was wanting a Cyber Gray car, but I don't want white stripes. It may have to be a Inferno Orange car with cyber Gray stripes. |

Good question, I was wondering myself, as I want a black car with silver Hockey stripes but if I only get a choice of white or cyber gray I would have to see how they look on the black camaro.
