I like this idea. As for the type, I still have the dealer's frame on there so I'm easy

I didn't bother to read the entire thread, but I know here in Texas, if any part of the text on the license plate is covered, you can get a ticket. I'm just hoping that all the custom license plate frame manufacturer's now adhere to this design issue.

Oh, and put me down for Yes on the Aluminium

In Tx it should be if the State name is less than 50% covered you're ok. The main letters/numbers cannot be covered at all, even by a clear plastic.

Normally I don't do plate frames but if it's Camaro5 and done right, I'd get one.

I have to have a front plate here in Ohio too. Do you guys put frames on the front plate? I never have on my other cars.
