Ill be doing a clutch/custom turbo cam/Twin turbo system in the coming months. Mike is doing a big cube engine for R&D for the shop.

We look forward to introducing alot of new combos/packages for the new Camaro as well as provide alot of useful information to all of you enthusiasts!!!!!!!
Hey Ron, which one of you guys has the black C5 corvette that sounds mean as hell? I met whomever that was at a gas station back in march and he gave me his card and offered to take me on a tour of the shop.

Acworth GA checking in. I ordered an LS at Days Chevrolet back in March. I have been at 3000 for a couple of weeks. I think I am driving my salesperson nuts because I go by there every week to check on the status. I have heard they are cranking out 450 cars a day, so hopefully it will be in before the of July!

Absolutely. They had a 2LT w/RS package that they were trying to push for ~$39,000!!! I won't name any names in particular, but even though most of the people there were nice, it's too insulting when dealers try to pull that crap. The Camaro is a great looking vehicle, but the most important feature that makes it such a great option is the relatively low MSRP/performance ratio. When these idiots are asking thousands over MSRP, they are hurting GM. Why? How? I am considering a Hyundai Genesis Coupe because 1) Hyundai is on an upward trajectory compared to GM; 2) the Genesis is readily available; and 3) there's no price gouging.

With the shape GM is in now, it baffles me that dealers would be trying to sell cars for that much. Then again, apparently people are paying it so...

Just to echo what some others have said. Stay away from Steve Rayman and Rick Hendrick Chevrolet. I have dealt with both personally, and they are out of their minds. Jim Ellis Chevy thinks they're sitting on a gold mine and don't have the most tact when dealing with customers, in my experience, but I haven't spoken to/with them about ordering; so, I have no idea if they are gouging or not.

On to the winners.

Greg English at John Thornton Chevrolet is an absolute delight to deal with. You can go test drive their black 1LT, and he is as straight-forward with you as possible. He even pulls out the sheet that shows MSRP and "invoice" pricing. I have no problem with dealerships selling these for sticker. I have a big problem with the guys demanding hefty deposits and/or huge markups. BTW, the deposit at Thornton is $500, and I believe it is refundable.

If I decide to order a Camaro, it will definitely be through Greg English at John Thornton Chevrolet.

Oh great, hearing how Hendrick is screwing people has me worried now.

I just ordered a VR 2SS on 6/1 with a 1k refundable deposit. I was supposed to go in on the next allocation (today I think).

Is it worth going to another dealer in the ATL area? I would consider it if my order could go in to allocation quickly.

Did you settle on a price before you ordered it? When they tried to offer me that bonehead deal, they then called me back the next day to see what if anything they could do to get my business and told me they could ORDER me a car for "only 1K over sticker." Yeah, that's right...ORDER one for a THOUSAND dollars over the STICKER price. Just insane.

Now, that was about a month or so ago; so, they might have come to their senses, but I won't go back there.

If you're in Duluth, you wouldn't be TOO far from Jim Ellis Chevrolet just inside the perimeter. I talked to Donal Campbell just yesterday, and I believe they had something in the teens to twenties in the queue. Selfishly, I would say don't go there because I haven't placed my order yet but I would recommend them.

Also, Greg English with John Thornton Chevrolet is great. They are in Lithia Springs, GA...just a couple of miles west of 285 on I-20. I think they have a pretty sizeable waiting list though.

Shoot me a PM if you have any questions.

No, didn't settle on a price. But it don't matter now. I called up Joey D at Team Chevy and they had s SIM 2SS coming in any day now and I pulled the trigger.

Joey D and Shayne set me up right. These are a great bunch of guys. Shayne even spotted me a couple bucks when the coke machine ate my dollar

Going back tomorrow to finalize the financing

Now I just have to pray that no one hits the GTO before I trade her in. Gonna be driving the View for a bit methinks.

Thanks Joey and Shayne,

Tim

If you don't mind sharing what they did for you on the financing side, it'd be much appreciated.

What concerns me about ordering is not being able to settle on financing the same day I decide to buy the car. Once I've put in an order and waited a couple of months to get it, I'm more in the sucker position if they try to pull anything, you know?

I'm stuck at the Saturn dealership so I haven't been by there yet to finalize, but if I understand you correctly, you can prequalify for financing....so you have better idea of where you stand.

They will check many different lenders to find you the best deal.

I asked the guy at Jim Ellis, and he said he couldn't tell me re: GMAC because the rates might change (higher or lower), yada, yada, yada... While that's all well and good, bank rates for auto loans are SHITE, and I'm not a member of a credit union or anything. Right or wrong, my thinking was that given my non-affiliation with any credit unions or military-related lending institutions, GMAC would probably be the best route as they certainly need to sell cars...and it's really taxpayer money that's financing it anyhow

Or wait...didn't GM already sell off it's only profitable business (GMAC) a while ago?

No reason to not be a member of a credit union. They are easy to get into, check out www.penfed.com. Last I looked they were at 3.99.

we just ordered our 47th or 48th car and have delivered 5 I believe. Seems like things are starting to roll pretty smooth now and hopefully the cars will be coming in more regularly.

thanks to all that have trusted us and allowed us to help with the order process
